Loooong rock songs that still thrill you.

These too.

Several years ago, I stumbled onto this while noodling around on You Tube one night, and realized that it was a “Deep Track” that our local album rock station sometimes played late at night and I never found out until then who it was by or what it was called. I’ve spent the time since making up for the 40 years I didn’t get to hear it regularly.

That song is “Fountains” by Starcastle.

Another “Deep Track” is this one from the first Styx album. It’s 13 minutes long and every second is great.

Maybe it counts as two songs, but Sirius/Eye in the Sky by the Alan Parsons Project.

Paradise By the Dashboard Light by Meat Loaf with Ellen Foley.

I Need a Lover by John Mellencamp, aka John Cougar.

Alan Parsons, Fall of the House of Usher

Low Spark of High Heeled Boys

“A Quick One (While He’s Away) by The Who. Bohemian Rhapsody a full decade before Bohemian Rhapsody.
A Quick One (While He's Away) - YouTube

CCR, I Heard it Through the Grapevine.

In The Cage - Genesis (live)

It’s a Fast Driving Rave-Up with The Dandy Warhols Sixteen Minutes - Dandy Warhols. (This version adds the intro and finale to make it longer than 16 minutes)

Close to the Edge

Heart of the Sunrise

Iron maiden: Phantom of the Opera and Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.

Anything by tool that you might consider “loooong”

Metallica: Master of Puppets and And Justice For All

Does industrial count? If so, Ministry: So What and Victims of a Clown

Does Hip Hop count? If so, Beastie Boys: B Boy Bouillabaisse.

“Won’t Get Fooled Again” by the who is yet another great classic as long as it’s the WHOLE song and not a scissored-for-time version, as is Boston’s “Foreplay/Long Time.”

Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden

God dammit. I knew i spelled it right, but i let autocorrect fuck me over. Again.

The recent cover by Rodrigo y Gabriela is pretty good.

I was actually surprised no one had suggested it already–I searched the thread for “rime” and found nothing. Only saw your post after the edit timer expired…

Im constantly surprised at how few people appreciate Iron Maiden. Especially for being a world wide powerhouse for decades.

The album version of Who Are You?, not the radio edit.

Pink Floyd: Dogs.

For me at least, their 1977 album Animals, and this song in particular, was the apex of their career.

Indeed. he drags such emotions out of you by basically just screaming… I wonder if he could talk after stressing those vocal chords so much!

I searched for some info about his range and found this page. Seldom have I read such praise from so many people about a singer!
