Loopiest far-right beliefs?

Was expecting to read about human mass depopulation and euthanasia, but thankfully the paper is about animal mass depopulation and euthanasia (in response to foreign animal diseases).

Still pretty extreme, though. To their credit, they do note that bashing in the heads of neonatal piglets is impractical because it is “aesthetically objectionable; requires practice and technical skill, and a considerable degree of strength and resolve”.

No need for overt violence, just vaccinate 'em. :scream:

The problem is that some cynical and slick types have managed to bond together a bunch of beliefs into a cultural, religious, and political identity, and then coupled that with the notion of a culture war between “real America”, and the godless socialist Democrats. And done it in a way that guarantees that dissent is basically viewed as being in league with the enemy. Anyone who says “That is crazy!” is attacking their identity and engaging in that cultural warfare, by their lights.

Since the GOP is casting their net pretty wide to get anyone and everyone they can under their particular crazy umbrella, stuff like conspiracy theories, etc… are tolerated, because they serve to basically further pull that cultural/religious/political identity away from the mainstream, and to reinforce the ideas that dissenters are the enemy and that any disagreement or criticism is an attack of their identity, not just their ideas or views.

It’s terrifying. I mean the overwhelming majority of this stuff should rightly be considered insane by the vast, vast majority of people, but since they’ve made believing in their bullshit part of the identity they espouse and pander toward, these people feel like they have to trust in and believe it or it’s some kind of self-betrayal.

By contrast, I recall seeing no deficit of RWers who insisted on describing Barack Obama as “your messiah”. It was like some sort of inverted projectionism.

It was pretty obvious that the right wing desperately craved their own messiah and were disappointed there was no such Obama equivalent figure on the right. Although Palin came somewhat close.

Yeah, remember how, in 2016, right wing media was convinced that Obama had a plan to cancel or nullify the election and declare himself King? Remember the Jade Helm 15 conspiracy theory?

More projection than an IMAX theatre, and some people still don’t get it.

I agree with this. I have to be careful when discussing things with my conservative friends to make sure when I say “That’s crazy!” they do not hear “You’re crazy!”, which is insulting. Unfortunately when you say “That’s a very stupid idea” some people seeking to be insulted (by being presented, ya know, facts and stuff) hear “You are very stupid for believing that idea”. Bunch of snowfwakes.

Its not close to the loopiest thing I see out there, but one of the stupider ones is the right wing conspiracy theory I’d see on social media in the Obama era: “FEMA is stockpiling coffins and this is proof they are preparing for secret diabolical thing they have in store for Americans!”.

Which my reaction would be: “Its FEMA for f_ck’s sake, it’s literally their job to prepare for disasters where lots of people die. If FEMA don’t have a plan to bury lots of people after a disaster then people need to get sacked.”

Ha, don’t tell me you’re unaware that Bill Clinton was the first Jewish President.

Hillary Clinton’s (step) grandfather was Jewish, and their daughter Chelsea married Marc Mezvinsky, so there are all kinds of Jewish rooty things going on there. It’s scary stuff.*

*not to mention Clinton’s association with the Jewish Mafia. It’s got to be true, a PhD says so.

Wait, I thought Bill Clinton was the first black President.

Has anyone seen Bill Clinton in the same room as Sammy Davis Jr.?

nvm

I have, at one of those Davos orgies.

Note that the description of these decade-plus-old events is followed in your cited source by a reference to LaRouche’s widow’s much more recent disavowal of LPAC for its ideological divergence:

Yeah, LPAC is much less “bipartisan” fringe craziness these days than it used to be. The loonies with any status and/or clout are increasingly congregating on the right wing.

Note: Larouche Democrat Kesha Rogers’ political ambitions didn’t end in 2010.

In 2014 she actually had a solid lead in the polls at one point while running for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate from Texas, ultimately finished second of five candidates in the primary vote and lost to David Alameel in the runoff (he in turn got crushed by John Cornyn in the general election).

Hard to believe Rogers fell short that year*, seeing as she had the endorsement of Doctors Against Murderous Obamacare.

*we may not have seen the last of her, seeing she ran unsuccessfully for Congress again in 2018, this time as an independent.

“Left field” ? That seems like an odd way to speak of LaRouchies.

That would have made him the first Jewish President.

During the procedure he kept mumbling, “oh, Vlad, baby…”

Looks like this old cartoon needs updating, to include Vlad’s current flame:
