I’m curious. What are the average ages girls and guys loose their virginity? I’m really quite interesting in how young or old they are these days.

Well, I’m 15 and still a virgin. My friends all are, too. Most people actually keep their virginity until about age 18 or older, as far as I know.

Anecdotal evidence is always suspect, monica. “Me and my friends” are not a representative random sample. But it looks like you’re mostly right … Here is a statistical breakdown from a study from a few years back; I doubt things have changed too much since then.

Most very young teens have not had intercourse: 8 in 10 girls and 7 in 10 boys are sexually inexperienced at age 15.

A poll of 18,500 people in 28 countries showed that the world was having more sex and starting earlier than ever before, and the United States was leading the field in all departments.

The survey showed respondents averaging sex 97 times a year, up from 96 last year.

Americans starting having sex earlier than anyone else at an average age of 16. Forty-five percent of Americans said they were younger than 16 when they first had sex.

Americans also had the highest average number of lifetime partners, at 14.

One in 10 people said they never had sex, and the global average age of first sex is 18.

I’m 17, still a virgin (though not intentionally :(), and mostly all the guys I know at school are virgins. Inversly, it seems like every girl in school has sex on a regular basis. The “funny” thing is that there are like 3 guys having sex with all these girls. If it wasn’t for high school football teams, I’m sure America would become one of the more “preservative” countries.
