Lord Il Palazzo: Now with 100% fewer wisdom teeth

I got my wisdom teeth removed today and am doing pretty well. The two lower ones were both partially erupted and coming in at an angle so they were pressing against my rear molars. For the past year or so, they gums around the lower left wisdom tooth would become periodically (a few days every two or three months) inflamed and it would be a pain to put up with.

Right now, sitting with a towel full of ice between my left cheek and shoulder and my head tilted at an awkward angle, I’m feeling good. I’ve got no pain from the uppers, a tiny bit from the lower right and a bit more from the lower left, and that pain is less than I usually had when the stupid thing decided to act up before. My only real problem is the soreness that’s keeping me away from solid foods for the moment. Oh well, I’ve got a big stock of yogurt and applesauce and should hold up fine.

Just some mundane pointless stuff that I felt the need to share.

Hey, me too; all four of them. I got knocked out with laughing gas, and IV anesthetic I think. No real pain, but I can’t eat, and I am getting tired of icing my mouth.

I had it done with the IV anesthetic. I hear that the other way is pretty intense. Lord Il the next two or three days are going to be the worst, but only because you will be tired. Incidentally, if you like tuna, tuna salad (without the bread and celery) is another good thing you can eat, so is spam.

Yeah, I also got IV anesthetic. I can’t remember what it was exactly. I think it started with an M. Supposedly, it left me semiconscious during the extractions, but kept me from remembering it afterwards.

Thanks for the tip on tuna; it sounds like a good idea. I’ll have to look into making some later (I’m not a huge fan of celery anyways, so no loss there.)

Are you still stuffing the gauze into your mouth? That part’s a pain in the arse. :frowning:

Drink lots of fluids for the first day and slurp, don’t chew. And get better soon!

Hmmm. My dentist only had me keep gauze in my mouth until I got home. There hasn’t been any significant bleeding since then.

Thanks. I seem to be doing better than anyone expected, so I guess I’m on the way.

I had them out about twelve years ago. Two fully impacted, two partially impacted, and one extra. My mother had a hell of a time explaining to her insurance company that it wasn’t a double billing; I did, in fact, have five.

I’m sleepy and I read your username (and title) as: Lord of Popozao.

I was like, “Whoa. . .Kfed posts here? And he got his wisdom teeth removed? How the hell did he pay for that?” Then I realized I need more sleep.

Are you tired Lord Il Palazzo? I’ve been napping on and off since I got them out on Monday.
