Lord of the Rings Mafia

Town only knew things were going their way because sheer numbers told them that they had to be.

No, everybody else doesn’t “get it.” They just recognize that they don’t, and let it go, wait for further developments. Seriouly, Meeko, if Mafia makes you feel this bad about yourself, you shouldn’t play (at least, not closed games). Not because you’re not a good player (because, actually, you aren’t bad) but because it makes you feel so rotten about yourself.

I’m about to start my first game, and if I come out of it feeling as crappy as you seem to do, I won’t play again. I’ve got plenty of things in life to feel shitty about; I don’t need a game to add to it. I hate to see you do this to yourself.

Woohoo! Way to go Rohirrim and Elves! By my count the remaining characters are Celeborn, Elrond, Theoden, and, yours truly, the ever popular Gamling!

Who? No, seriously… what was your real cover role?

I was half hoping Stickler would flip Town so I could lynch your scummy ass!

Yep, the old men (Theoden and Gamling) pull it off again. Plus Elrond, of course; while not the oldest of the players in this game, he creaked across the finish line with the best of them.

Shame Bilbo missed the party, really.

Well done for sticking to your guns, and finally routing out the last of SAHM.

Yes, Gamling was a real player’s role.

And the covers were:

Gimli

Haldir

Pippin

What we “get” is that we know that we aren’t supposed to completely understand everything perfectly. Even after things happen, we won’t always understand it.

Complaining that you don’t understand when you specifically aren’t supposed to understand is sideways.

The concept for me, is to take what I do know, make some educated guesses, and pick what I think is the best play. Sometimes I’m right. More often, I’m wrong.

What? I had Hoopy totally convinced to vote you after Stickler. It was in the bag.

but no Glorfindel. He wasn’t in the game.

By the way, Mahaloth, I just wanted to say you did a great job designing and running the game. I had a lot of fun.

Yes. Now that it’s over, can someone please explain the Glorfindel thing? And what special magic bag information did peeker have?

i hate being scum so so much and it seems to be the only role i ever get in mahaloth games

I agree. Well designed and a fun game.

Ed accidentally was sent a never used vanilla town PM for glorfindel, and Peeker was accidentally told he was Eowyn at first.

I didn’t really expect an apology. That was just game talk.

You did a pretty good job as a sort of “stealth scum”. You just had a tough road ahead of you after Sauron died. Too many confirmeds. It almost came down to a LyLo situation though (if, for example, we had let Hoopy murder me like he wanted to… :p)

Really? Bad luck, then.

Here is my role PM and subseuqnet conversation with Mahaloth:

So was that the genesis of the handshaking attempt? Or would you have tried it anyways as a matter of course?

No, not having a Vanilla PM posted was the genesis of it.

Having 2 identical PMs made me confident that the Vanilla had the same PM
