I need to check posts of all other handshakers, but special ed gets a ++ because he posted it before on eof the sentences involved was made general knowledge.
Besides the search function you can go back to the forum page and click on the post count for the thread which will bring up the number of posts by each player from there if you click on a player’s post count it will bring up all of their posts in the thread. Just don’t try it with Meeko after Day 1 or you’ll crash the board.
oneandonly quick question. you bring up a valid point in that if scum were provided a tidied up copy of a town pm then ed could just be blowing smoke (my characterization of the post).
but then you follow that up by giving an a++ rating to ed for posting what you previously have admitted could just be scum ammo.
also, and i think it begs repeating. i believe that sach and story were involved in the devolpment of this game. coupled, with maha that’s a pretty savvy bunch. if there was a way to “handshake” i would bet my last dollar that they would figure out a way to not make it work.
and i know that is kind of metagame but i’ve engaged with those folks enough to make that leap.
therefore, i kind of take the counter position. the fact that ed tried to “handshake” makes me deeply suspicious of him as well as others that would support that position.
now are they scum or just misguided townies would be the question.
assuming handshaking has ever been successful then why not now? In ALL gmes evah the mod could have secretly given a townie pm format to the scum. I believe that to be unlikely.
If you are saying that you think it’s unlikely for this game: I would provide evidence to the contrary, seeing as the scum cover identities for Harry Potter contained the wincondition and powers for the town roles we were supposed to assume, but I cannot access the scum boards from that game. If anyone else can access them, and would like to post the section from the “polyjuice potions” thread please feel free to do so, so we can dispel this notion of handshakes being worth anything except exposing those with a desire to shake hands.
Not to mention that we’ve already had several textual inconsistencies between what people are claiming their role PMs say, so it seems more likely than anything else that Mahaloth et al. just made sure that a uniform handshake wouldn’t be possible across the board by varying the wording slightly from PM to PM.
ding ding ding, i think we have a winner. once again i am operating under the assumption that story had some say in this game design. story is notorious for making sure that this “handshake” shit will not break a game. to infer otherwise is really short sighted. he typically customizes his pm’s. so any conclusion about similarity or disparity is most likely random and really does nothing other than create horrible assumptions and bad conclusions.
Do I need membership in some secret club to actually be able to see these mysterious questions? Or are you 2 just going to try yo build suspicion on me by winking and nodding at each other knowingly?
