but this would mean that we have to take the leap that ed and you are honest townies. i am not willing to take that leap.
and i understand where you are at. but if burb is being honest then he is going to get hosed tonight absent a doc protect. and if he is still alive tomorrow then he got a result. one that we can hold him to account for.
I’m not willing to take the leap that Ed is an honest townie. However, I can evaluate the role PM he provided with my own two eyes, and I’m satisfied that it sounds like something “genuine” – whether or not it’s Ed’s actual PM or merely one provided as vanilla cover – waaaaaaaay more than Suburban’s does.
This would lead me to believe that a player with this power would receive a result of “SoD or not” not “Town or Scum”. As a player with this power is the only one who should actually be concerned about interpreting the result of an investigation of an hypothetical third party, I’d imagine that player would have asked the moderator via PM and not posed the question in the general thread.
It’s not necessarily an auto-lynch, but he’d look incredibly scummy in my eyes. I don’t want to lock myself in; maybe scum will voluntarily out themselves? Short of that, I can just about guarantee I’d vote for SP. I only want him to survive today’s lynch because I believe it might give town helpful information.
i don’t see where giving SP a chance to inv and report back hurts us whether or not he is scum. What we would need to think about is how many inv’s we go for before pulling the plug, and also if he found a scum, would we lynch SP 1st then the scum or the fingered scum 1st and then assess
Anyway of the 2 other contenders, I actually at the mo think Ed is VT
so
unvote SP vote Chipacubra
In future can leading contenders please claim TWO days before deadline? kthx.
I’m pretty sure Wanderers meant “surviving until the Night,” seeing as how Suburban is currently slated to swing by the rafters, but he/she can correct me if I’m wrong.
On sleeping on it, I realized something else that’s off about Plankton’s claim: His claimed power is only very slightly weaker than a standard Detective (since a standard Detective should claim after finding Scum anyway, and is likely to get killed or blocked thereafter), and a Detective is about the strongest power available to Town. That means that, if he’s telling the truth, our most powerful Town role, or very close to it, is a third-string character. Now, obviously, this is a bit meta, but if I were designing a Lord of the Rings game, I’d contrive some way for Gandalf or Aragorn or someone to be the Detective, even if it meant stretching things a bit, before I’d make someone as insignificant as Denethor be the star of the show, even if the power fits well canonically.
This is enough to push me over the edge and Unvote special ed
Vote Suburban Plankton
I still remain highly suspicious of special ed, and will almost certainly switch back to him once Plankton is dead.
I’m happy with Plankton swinging. While lynching a claimed investigator is not good, I do not find the claim plausible. I see no need to suffer a scum with a poor claim to survive any length of time.
My preferred alternative is MHaye, they aren’t close to being lynched ToDay, so switching my vote is not useful.
