I’ve been lurking here at the straight dope for an unbelievably long amount of time. I remember back when it was the last chance to buy a charter membership, if you can believe it. I’ve always been in love with the straight dope, and it’s one of my favorite websites to read.
But, I never felt like I had anything to add to the conversation. So I lurked and I lurked and I lurked, until about a year ago when I finally decided to join up. My favorite usernames to come across were puns of some kind, and Astral Rejection just popped into my head. I liked it, so here I am!
I spent a summer in '88 as a camp counselor, and my nickname was “Shadow.” I wanted to use a similar name online (since there’s more than plenty of “Shadows” out there), and after watching a George Lopez Showtime special I decide on cucuy. It’s the Hispanic version of the boogeyman.
The change in the feeling in the air overnight was astounding. Suddenly, it had become menacing, thick, and frightening. If the Alliance of the Light had been fearful before Dawn, they were absolutely terrified as light fell across the land.
As light rose, it was still dim and the new Day was windless.
Something had happened over night and after a tireless and swift search, it was easy to find out what had occurred.
Gadarene was found dead inside his tenet. He did not look like he had suffered. In fact, he lay there stiff and if he had not been cold and pale, he would have looked asleep. He clearly had made no struggle against his foe and death came to him before he could ever react.
**Gadarene, who was Aragorn, is now dead. He was a member of the Alliance of Light and was a Ranger who possessed several special objects.**
“This is a great blow to us. This wound hurts us deeply,” muttered one Alliance member, who was met with agreement by all.
It is now Day Three. Day Three ends Thursday, September 2 at Noon Eastern.
Thanks for finding the hash for me, Chronos. I’d been searching for it, but I couldn’t find it. Nobody else has claimed a power like yours, but I wonder if there might be another like it out there somewhere?
[color=green]mod question: is this game gastard or could it be construed that way by certain folks? and by that i think you know what i mean. is the information you provide certain folks via pm consistent with information provided in the game?[color]
Again, I agree that the handshaking attempt was spectacularly unsuccessful.
However, if scum had access to a vanilla role pm, why did SP make a claim that referenced servants of darkness instead of SAHM? I still don’t see Ed as scum
Maybe the Scums’ own PMs referenced SoDs instead of SahMs, and (since he was using his real name) he decided to just edit his genuine PM a bit. Or maybe he made up everything in the PM except the name from whole cloth, but referenced the opening color instead of the provided vanilla PM when he did so. Or maybe he thought that the genuine power roles didn’t have SahM in their PMs, and so deliberately avoided that phrasing.
do you have any clue why the mods would have styled your pm to be “role information” as opposed to “powers”? and if it something that realeases too much information please just take the fifth, fcs.
