LORD STANLEY'S CUP.

That ass whupping the Avs gave the Devils last night was so good I had to smoke a cigarette afterwards.

Roy was outstanding in the first period, he could not have played any better and when he’s that hot, beating the Avs is virtually impossible.

I am looking for Roy, Bourque, and the rest of the Avs to be hoisting the cup after game seven.

Not if I have anything to do with it. . .

GO DEVILS!

Tripler
Something like the past 5 games have been won on the road. Keep that in mind. . .

Tripler - Oh Yeah?!!

Go Avs! Go Avs! Go Avs! Go Avs! Go Avs! Go Avs! Go Avs!

fucking Devil worhippers…

Quite sadly I expect this thread to fall into obscurity once the Avs or Devils hoist The Grail, it won’t happen immediately as I expect there to be some truly gratuitous Pit behaviour to be expressed by the losers.

It has been a great playoff season hasn’t it??

WTG Avs and fans. You were the better team.

< smile >

My Avs kicked some ass!!!

Roy-Whooooo

Regardless of the outcome, I’ve never seen a better finals. Just outstanding.

I’m not really gloating (I’m not, after all, an Avalanche fan) - I’m just glad the cup will not be subjected to the ignominy of the bleedin’ parking lot again! (Go to Newark already!).

Great series, great players. Congrats Ray Bourque.

I’m disappointed that it wasn’t closer at the end–what I reallywanted was a 7th game overtime. But I have to hand it to the Avs–to come back from 3-2 down and dominate the last two games against the Devils like that was pretty damn impressive. A very well-deserved Stanley Cup.

The definition of “mixed emotions” has just been changed from “watching your mother-in-law go over a cliff in your new sports car,” to “being a live-and-die Red Wings and hockey fan, watching Ray Bourque hoist The Cup, as a member of the Colorado Avalanche.”

I’m a little intoxicated from the celebration, but I have a few things to say before going to sleep:

[ul]
[li] Seeing Bourque hold up the cup was a wonderful sight, despite the massive exploitation by ABC[/li][li] Will Al Michaels ever forgive Roy for the “gaffe” in game four? Everyone else has, since, you know, if it wasn’t for Roy we never would have gotten past the Kings. I have the feeling that when the Broncos open up Monday Night Football this season, I’m going to hear Al Micheals say “Four months ago, in this very city…”[/li][li] During the post game interviews Adam Foote stumbled up to one the cameras with beer in hand and wearing halloween teeth that were hideously twisted and bloody. My friends and I laughed for about twenty minutes thereafter. Foote rocks![/li][li] I’m biased, but I think that the team with the most heart won. The Devils put in a good game, better than most of their games in the series, but it just wasn’t enough.[/li][li] Roy is the greatest goalie in the history of the sport.[/li][li] I’m really glad that the Denver Riots part IV were not as bad as they have been previously (I think).[/li][li] Even better than Foote’s fake teeth joke was when one of the announcers asked Hinote what it felt like to when the Stanley Cup in his rookie year. Hinote begain his answer with “Well, I figured that since I was here I might as well.”[/li][li] I really need to get some sleep.[/li][li] Just because we’re in the pit… THE AVALANCHE FUCKING KICKED SOME FUCKING GOD DAMN ASS!![/li][/ul]

Energy draining… super powers fading… must sleep…

I’ll say it again, it was a hell of a series.

It was good to see the Avalanche exorcise those unrepentant spawn of Satan back to the nether regions of hell they call New Jersey.

Seeing Bourque hoist the Grail was truly priceless.

Roy is the greatest goalie in the history of the game.

The rest of the Avs weren’t too shabby either.

You guys are the politest bunch of hockey fans I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I half expected this thread to get bumped upstairs.

::sigh:: :frowning:
Tripler
Great series tho . . .

I love you! Go Blue! Go Wings! Go… Wait, all the rest of the teams are crappy. Nevermind. MI sucks for sports other than football and hockey.

Wow, I’m far behind. Just didn’t feel like reading the whole thing, when I started getting lost in stuff that happened BEFORE I realised what sports were (5 years ago).
