Lost snacks of your childhood...

I miss buttermint lifesavers, a flavor apparently mostly lost to time. it was like a cross between a butterscotch candy and a starlight mint, IIRC came in a creamy green wrapper.

That reminds me of another one- pineapple flavor Tootsie-Roll Pops.

Stretching my own thread a bit with drinks…

Funny Face - Preferred this over Kool-Aid

Fizzies - Carbonated soda tablets. Kind of like giant Pop Rocks in tablet form. Rumor was if you swallowed one whole, your stomach would explode!

As a kid I loved Hostess Pudding Pies. Terrible for you but yummy.

Also, I had a plush Choo Choo Cherry that I loved as a kid but ironically I don’t think I ever drank the drink he was a Mascot for.

I wasn’t a kid but I miss Hersey’ Kissbles. Basically Kiss shaped M&Ms but they tasted better than M&Ms.

The Original Maurice Lenell Pinwheel Cookies.

Chocolite candy bar
Product 19 cereal

I would trade in one of my kids for a bag of these.

If it’s what I’m thinking of, I see these in random gas stations and convenience stores still. At first I was thinking it’s the Goetz from the link, but no - the ones I see are flat and swirled on a white cardboard covered in plastic not individually wrapped rounds. Maybe there’s a 3rd caramel cream thing I don’t know about.

If they stopped it was only recently. My son used to buy candy cigarettes from the ice cream truck (circa 2010ish) and I bought them in bulk off Amazon. Yeah, he smokes now.

Oops. Maybe I was just thinking of these. I see them wherever candy is sold.

Yep, those are the ones I was thinking of.

Funny Face originally had some flavors they decided to rename because they **might cause offense ** to certain ethnic minorities. F’rinstance, the Choo-Choo Cherry mentioned in another post was first called Chinese Cherry (which I loved).

I mentioned Fizzies in another thread about things we remember from our childhood. My favorite flavor was root beer.

I remember Hostess pudding pies, but I would love to have one of their glazed fruit pies right now, preferably Mixed Berry or French Apple. :o

There were these cookies that were almost like little candy bars. Four to five inches long, peanut butter center, some kind of crunchy enclosure, covered with chocolate. Can’t even remember what they were called, but they were good.

Here’s a little more on “Funny Face” drink mix.

I’d be more embarrassed ever using a word like “personhood.”

A little internet search reveals the name for that cookie I was talking about: “Ideal bars”. (Indeed they were.)

How about the Frito Bandito? Ai Yi Yi Yi, I am the Frito Bandito… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOUilxJWm24

Ahhh…good times, good times.

Just remembered, we used to call a guy named Chu, Choo Choo Cherry. I always thought it was just because of his last name, but he WAS Chinese.

Bit-O-Honey was my go-to candy as a kid. Couldn’t get enough of them.

I was also fond of Reggie bars. Been decades, but I think they’re nothing more than $100,000 Grand bars in another shape.

Except Reggie Bars had peanuts and $100,000 Bars didn’t. Incidentally, I’ve kept an intact Reggie Bar in my freezer for 36 years. What’s your offer for it?

I also recall Marathon Bars - what seemed like a foot-long braid of caramel covered in chocolate that still shares space between my molars with those friggin’ Bit-O-Honeys.

Candy cigarettes are still available. I see them in the bulk candy stores and the occasional eclectic small town variety store. Plus they’re available for purchase online.
