Lost

But that’s not really what I’m talking about. I don’t necessarily care if The Numbers are a subset of the periodic table of elements vs. something mystical. I just wish that I felt like the writers had any idea what they were, or (and this may be the biggest one) what really motivates The Others. Science vs. Religion is not the point. A consistent meaningful backstory is.

What exactly does “10/9 central” mean?

I assume 10 means Eastern Time, 9 Central Time, but what about Mountain and West Coast Time?

In my head, I hear it as “10/9 Central and Mountain” which I interpret as 10pm for Eastern and Pacific, and 9pm for all points in between. But what do I know?

Well damn…somewhere last week I let my 2000th post go by uncelebrated.

I always thought that was a weird convention, the way they say it.

Anyway, the major channels have pacific-time satellite feeds for the west coast, so that everything that’s on at a certain time eastern is on 3 hours later to be on the equivelant time on the west coast. So Lost will be on at 10pm PST, on the ABC-P feed.

The easy way to figure it out: It is on one hour later than it was before.
At least, I think that is consistantly true.

Brian

Exactly. And the writers have been telling us since the first season that the show is supposed to be mainly about the characters and their interactions with each other.

Well if that’s true then I sure wish they’d spend a hell of lot more time back at the beach showing me know how the characters are interacting with each other.

I was looking on TV Guide to confirm the show’s time and saw this… I guess it’s kind of a spoiler since it reveals an actor who will be on the show. I’ll box it just in case. If it’s not really a spoiler, then I guess people can reply in unboxed format. Can never be too careful about these things.

Robin Weigert, who was Calamity Jane on Deadwood, will be in the season premiere. They had Paula Malcomson, who played Trixie, last season. Is there a connection between Deadwood and Lost? The people who run it, not thematically, though that would be bizarre enough to be par for the course…

The whole “it’s all about the characters” just sounds like a cop-out to me.
It that’s the case there is no reason to watch it at all, as the characters are all cardboard cut-outs with no personality to speak of.

I think this show shows utter contempt for its viewers, on a level not seen since the X-files.
So, count me in among the thread-shitters who isn’t going to spend another minute watching this drivel.
(But I won’t post in the official Lost threads about it)
