I was wondering (while watching TFOTR for the umpteenth time last night) if any of you had been, or are going to the place where they filmed the movies?
Or would that ruin the fantasy for y’all?

I’m going to NZ this summer, but I don’t know the exact itinerary yet. (It’s a study abroad program with a few weeks of travel tacked onto the end of it.) It would be cool if I got to see some of this stuff, though.
NZ is now in the top place on my holiday list. I would love to see in real life some of the places where they filmed LOTR.
I thought NZ was a pretty cool place before LOTR (but probably would never have gone there). Now am seriously tempted…
