Lotus vs Apache - wow

I guess it belongs here, I’m not quite sure. I just watched this video from the guys at Top Gear and I have to say I was laughing like a school boy the entire time. The end scene is awesome with the lotus and the apache in a chase that rivals even the movie Ronin.

Man that was fun. I’ve watched the video 3 times in 2 days. I’d never fit in the car, but I’d love to try and out maneuver a chopper like an Apache. And I’d be humming the Bond theme the entire time…

You’d fit. There’s more room in there than you’d think. It’s the getting in and out that requires contortions.

Serious? I’m 6’6"… I have trouble fitting in normal cars.

Woohoo, that was a blast! Great soundtrack too. In reality, of course, the pilot would simply track the cannon across the Exige and tear it apart like tissue paper, but the chase was a scream to watch.

That was awesome-o power.

That’s definitely something I’d have loved to have watched happen.
<Hijack>Why is it that British shows about vehicles (cars/airplanes) are so many magnitudes better than their American/Candian counterparts?</hijack>

I thought this thread would be about a new benchmark for network server software. :frowning:

Depends a little on your build and proportions. I know of some guys your height that are owners.

Take the roof panel off and you’d have about all the room you’d ever need.

hehe, I love top gear. They think of the craziest things! That video is so getting bookmarked.

Jeremy Clarkson (the guy driving the Exige) is 6’4".

Here’s another clip from the same show featuring an Ariel Atom.

Well assuming I get the chance, I’ll gladly buy myself one of those.

Sweet Jeebus! That was cool! I want!

So did the chopper get missile lock or not?

Yup, me too.

As long as they kept the chopper on the track and didn’t go at a distance, then the car could successfully avoid it.

They’ve done this kind of thing a few times on Top Gear.

This is a similar setup with a Range Rover Sport attempting to get away from a Challenger II tank on Salisbury Plane.

Yeah, but did it? If I’m watching a football game, I know either team could win, but I still wanna know which one did!

Did the ending not get uploaded to Google perhaps? Or did the show actually not say who “won”?

I’ve been right up close and personal with an Apache helicopter. The gun looks like a toy, but it isn’t. And the cockpit is really small - I’d never fit.

Here’s another Top Gear video pitting a Range Rover against a Challenger tank.

The car or the chopper?

Yes

I see Armilla beat me to it. Guess I should have posted before watching the video.
