Loud fireworks

Seriously? Wtf are we Americans thinking? These bombs that people are setting off do nothing other than upset my dog, and the men and women that served my great country. Let’s keep fucking then up more!

BOOM, yay

Mods, I’m drunk, and angry. Feel free to change the title

To what? LOUD FIREWORKS make me drunk and angry?

I feel your pain though. We Aussies do fireworks and rowdy parties for NYE and Australia Day, sending plenty of doggies to the local pound freaked out by the booms.

Thank goodness for local FB sites though, where folks who are missing their pets can connect with those who have found the stray pups.

You know it’s coming. Could you travel to Canada or buy earplugs? Should the rest of the country stop enjoying a fun holiday in traditional ways because it makes your vag sandy?

Having had dogs that were freaked out by fireworks and thunderstorms, I can sympathize with the OP. However, I wouldn’t give up the fireworks celebrations on the Fourth. Maybe the OP could try a Thundershirt on his dog, or get his vet to prescribe tranquilizers.

My current dog isn’t bothered too much by loud noises, although thunder sometimes makes him tremble a little and come to me seeking petting and reassurance. Fortunately that’s as bad as it gets.

Lol @ my sandy vag

My pup is actually doing fairly well with the smaller booms this year. It’s the ones that shake the house that freak her (and me) out.

I’m more concerned about the “kids” that fought for our country.

What’s your concern for them? I doubt that fireworks are going to trigger flashbacks in more than a few of them. I’ll bet most of them will participate in and enjoy fireworks displays as much as everybody else.

I’m going to politely disagree, and say it’s more than a few.

The OP was posted at 2:30 am PDT 5:30 am EDT. Who is lighting firecrackers/fireworks at this hour?

The typical cast of idiots.

Maybe I was

I can sympathize with the OP. It’s sad to watch dogs get all fuckered up on the 4th. My family used to have a chihuaua that would just vibrate and shake constantly during the celebrations. I’m not calling for the end of fireworks, but if the OP wants to come to the Pit to tell all those dog tormenters to shove it, OP is welcome.

Can I pit the ones who fire them off on the nights before said holiday? You silly gits can’t wait?

Had a dog what was bred on a farm outside Hannibal, MO. She loved fireworks because they reminded her of how much her Mama loved shotguns and hunting. You aren’t suggesting your dog is a cat, are ye?

Yeah, I sympathize with the OP. Our pets are already twitchy from the punks who have been setting off fireworks for the last week. Tonight is going to be very hard on them.

Being drunk and angry is not going to help your dog feel better ! Some dogs get frighten when they see their owner angry , the dog think it’s about them.

The solution is, of course, drinking more. I thought that was obvious.

Our rescue doxies reacted very badly for the first years we had them. Got them thundershirts and only had to use them for two Fourths. Now, they don’t even notice loud noises barely at all. I think they just became confident in us and relaxed.

Now, we just have to protect them from the coyotes that are prowling around lately.

Getting the dog drunk won’t help, either. In fact, I strongly advise against getting the dog drunk.
