Louie

I thought the Matthew Broderick segment the other night was just OK; I like the scene in the agent’s office much better…

But the opening segment, with the talking woman, was great! Both the onstage and then the backstage interaction was wonderful – and the punchline after she left was the cherry on top!

Ironically I was at the Improv the other night to see Hal Sparks, and they do a pre-show admonition – no photography, turn mobiles off, and NO LOUD TALKING/HECKLING during the show – and almost as soon as he came on stage, some drunk woman in the second row started to shout out random comments. He handled it well, and even incorporated some of it into his act, but her attitude was so like the woman from Tuesday’s episode: “I paid to be here, I get to be part of the show.”

God bless Louis C.K., he’s really the only person I know that can lift my spirits by telling a joke about screwing a hooker that turns out to be a man.

Not to revive a zombie (only a month or so) but I guess I missed this thread earlier. This show rocks. Louis CK is freaking hilarious. In every episode there is a laugh out loud moment for me. (His standup special is also great… Available to watch instantly on Netflix).

FX has really made a reputation or themselves… The Shield, now Justified (which I love), Louie, and It’s Always Sunny. Quality stuff.

Thank you for reminding me. I need to finish watching the first season!

Oooh and new Sunny tonight too!

I’ve watched several shows and now I’m hooked.

Saw one last week where he was “stuck” with a night out and nothing to do. This episode was art. Not your standard sitcom or whatever. A lot of very deep insights.

The entire season is on Hulu, and that’s how I viewed it. Louis C.K. is tied with Patton Oswalt as the best living stand-up comic right now, in my view. I love how pensive, thoughtful, and morose this show can be – whilst still being funny.

The HBO show tried too hard and was too bleak, the FX one is much easier to digest.

Although I feel a heavy Curb influence running through it.

I thought the first episode was OK, but by the third or fourth, it was one of my favorite shows. A couple of stinkers in the mix, but I love it.
