All enforcement personnel are commissioned by Louisiana State Police and have full police powers in the performance of their duties.”

its not that big these days but there used to be an edible turtle meat industry in Louisiana and the south that canned turtle meat was a real thing … i have a cookbook from the 60s with pictures of the cans for reference …

And the big cattle and sheep states also have various versions of the same thing although i think hanging a thief that was caught red-handed was finally banned
