I once worked with an autistic client who was receiving the chemical castration shots. He got a shot of Depo-Provera once a month. It reduces the sex drive but desn’t completely eliminate it. Since it’s basically a hormone shot, it also causes men to grow breasts and lose facial hair. Other than that, it doesn’t seem to cause much discomfort.
I don’t have a problem with this, but it should probably be pointed out for the record that it won’t necessarily stop a perpetrator from re-offending (even physical castration can’t guarantee that), and if the subject misses a shot or two, the sex drive comes right back. It’s not like it’s fullproof. If one of these guys lams it or somehow avoids getting the shots, he’s right back to normal.

I think this is going the wrong way. Instead of removing testicles, we ought to have mandatory oversized Neutical implants. Give those convicted rapists testicles the size of, say, grapefruit

Geez, talk about a blatant government handout. You must be in the pocket of Big Trousers.

I think this is great news. Rapists need to be severely punished. Their lives should be made to be almost unbearable. It is just too bad Louisiana did not pass a law that requires physical castration on the first offense. It is nice that the judges can sentence the rapists to physical castration, but I wish this was mandatory. Is there anyone that thinks this law is not a great step in the right direction?

I sure agree it’s a great step forward. I hope that they will soon amputate the hands of thieves too. And, it is to be hoped, the stoning of adulterers should come next.

Do you have any kind of cite to that - because the studies I saw suggested that false accusations of rape occured at the same level as false accusations of other series crimes. Brownmiller’s study, for example.
Brownmiller? :dubious: I’m willing to be educated, but isn’t that a bit like taking the word of an Austrian housepainter on why everything is the fault of the Jews?
The study has definitely been criticized. But what I haven’t seen is another study with credible alternative evidence. I wasn’t being snarky when I asked Der Trihs for a cite - I was genuinely interested.
No, but convicted rapists would need Big Trousers just to be able to walk around. That’s the point.
This is no joke, Big Trousers is one of the most insidious industries around. If you’re going to be a lobbyist, by all moral sense you should distance yourself from them.
To save your dignity, you must immediately drop Trou.
You do realize that consent cannot be given by a person who’s consumed alcohol, right? Yes, that means if you buy a girl a beer, and then sleep with her, you’ve committed sexual battery.
And now, she can send you off for a little choppy choppy. Good plan.

So. because we use the same word to describe all rapes, all rapes need to be treated equally?
