I need advice. I don’t have time to go to the gym, and sit-ups don’t help. What can I do (besides cut down on beer)?

situps do increase the muscle sizes but to get six pack abs you need to lose the layer off fat covering it , try crunches instead where it is sit up with knees bent up with your chest to the knees then down but don’t touch the floor (ie rest on your back) and repeat 50 times in 4 sets about twice , heh its all i can remember presently , i’ve been so busy lately that i have no time to do anything , so just let the lard pile onto me which isn’t pleasant

Are those electronic muscle stimulators bullshit? How about the ab-toner things?

yup search for a thread called “electrical exercise” on the general questions section i asked this before and they were
trashed as a way to get beefy abs (real work for real abs etc etc) and are decent only for physiotherapy like when footballers break limbs and don’t want the muscle to wear away
Hey Leandor, I’ve got them too. Whats weird is that my stomach is fairly flat, but I tend to get fat on the sides. I believe drinking beer makes them larger. My dad was the same way. Rail thin until he started drinking beer, and then he would gain weight with most of the fat being on the side of his gut.
Also, a couple of years ago, I lost some weight, and I could actually SEE my six pack abs, but I still had lots of fat on the side.
What I plan on doing is to lose some weight until my abs show again, and then have liposuction done on the lovehandle fat.
Actually, there is no way to do “spot reduction” of fat, so even crunches won’t work. You’re going to have to burn more calories than you take in each day. You can exercise more to burn more calories (you don’t have go nuts), or cut down on current calories. If you are burning more than you take in, you will lose fat.
FWIW, I’ve been going to the gym for less than an hour a day for the past six weeks, and I’ve noticed a big decrease in the amount of fat on my body. I’ve only been lifting, too–the trick is to increase your muscle mass, because the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn just sitting around. Plus you look better, and that’s probably a good thing.
