A friend of mine said that yesterday and I just stopped because it triggered some old memories. While we agreed that it was something we heard from our childhood, we could not remeber if it was from television or a movie or radio station. Anybody else remember this phrase "Love ya, Love your Show?
Am I imagining this catch phrase or what? Somebosy (anybody!) please help!
but for the love of [SUB][SUB]INSERT DIETY OF CHOICE HERE[/SUB][/SUB] does anybody have any idea what/where this came from?
[sub]NOTE TO MOD(S): THIS IS THE LAST BUMP I PROMISE! :)[/SUB]
Did you ever think of doing an internet search?
I found a lot of pages with this phrase on it, mostly in guestbooks.
Are you from the Chicago area? Seems like a popular DJ there (“Mancow”) uses that phrase a lot.
He might have been elsewhere before he came to Chi-town in 1994.
Hey thanks for the info! What a brilliant and astute idea!
Here are the results. Not surprisingly the same ones that showed up last week.
But perhaps it is Mancow but I never lived in Chi-town.
I have absolutely nothing to back this up, but I’m thinking “Love ya, love your show” as well as “IS THE CALLER THERE?!!” are from the Phil Donahue show. (In other words, callers would call in, say “Hi Phil! Love ya, love your show!” and proceed with their question.) I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen the Phil Donahue show, but remember these phrases from the assorted SNL/Letterman spoofs of it.
BTW, Mancow was formerly a DJ in the SF Bay area but was run out of town on a rail for closing down the Golden Gate Bridge during rush hour to get a haircut. (A boneheaded nod to Clinton’s haircut on Air Force One.)
