Lower bar in Internet Explorer

I got my new laptop and it has Windows XP on it. When I use IE, there’s no gray bar on the bottom now where there was on my old computer. That bar usually displays the “lock” graphic when it’s a secure connection or the url when the mouse runs over a link. I hope you guys know what I’m talking about. How do I get it back? I’ve dug through the Internet Options menu but haven’t had any luck.

Go to where it says “View” at the top, and make sure “Status Bar” is checked.

On my comuter, the “Status Bar” tends to randomly disappear no matter how many times I activate it.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

You could get a different browser…or try this solution

Close Internet Explorer. Open Windows Explorer. Go to View/Status Bar and make sure it’s checked. Then go to Tools/Folder Options/View. Click on “Apply to all folders”.

Close Windows Explorer. Open Internet Explorer.
