Lower case, word-end sigma

What is the proper Greek name for the lower case sigma used at the end of words?

I won’t insist that there was never a special word for it, but we were simply told “That’s the way a sigma looks at the end of a word.” I have never heard a specific name given to it.

sigma.

I’m fairly sure anyway. I’m sure we’d have been told in Greek class if it had a different name.

pan

I have only heard it called “terminal sigma” in English. I don’t know if the Greeks have a special name for it. You can get it on the keyboard by typing capital V in the “symbol” font.
