Ever feel loyalty for a city or town you’ve never lived in? And the loyalty is so strong, it’s like you live there? My place is Marshalltown, Iowa. My parents grew up there, and it’s like a second home to me, even though I’ve never lived there (I grew up in Las Vegas; probably the only member of my family who has not grown up in Iowa). My family is there, and I’ve been there so much I know the entire geography of the place. And I’m probably connected to everybody in some way because family on my mom and dad’s side have lived there for decades. “You’re so and so’s granddaughter? Wow!” Or something like that usually happens.
Not really as if I live there, but I tend to defend the UK (excluding Wales) if people badmouth it. Of course, not with the same vigour that I defend Canada/Saskatoon :D.
I feel a strong loyalty towards and always defend the honor of Canada. Don’t know why.
O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
