Lubricating a treadmill belt

I have a manual treadmill that I got for very little, but I found that the belt does not move very well. If you don’t put it on the highest incline, it just doesn’t move.

Is there some sort of lubricating or Teflon substance I could put on the bottom of this belt to make it slide better? I tried this white lithium grease spray, but it just made it even worse, maybe because it was still sort of wet.

A tube of some kind of lubricant came with my treadmill.I’ve never used it,but it * appears * to look like any other light oil that came with various other gadgets I’ve used (beard trimmer for one).

So it’s apparent the manufacturer knows about this issue.Maybe go to an exercise equipment manufacturer’s website?I have a Nordictrack, presumably they have a website.
