Some time ago, I did some reading on the Lucis Trust. (Their website is here.) According to some conspiracy websites, they used to “Lucifer Trust” (but changed their name to avoid detection) and are a Satanic organization bent on establishing a new world order (one world government, blah blah blah). The Lucis Trust claims to be active with the United Nations, working towards worldwide cooperation and good-will. They exist also as a publishing arm for Alice Bailey’s works - evidently she was some sort of theosophist or esotericist.
Bailey’s works seem to run along the usual New Age Ascended Master line - which is complete garbage in my eyes. I have a hard time believing in these ascended masters many New Agers and New Age “leaders” seem to be so excited about.
Does anyone have any first-hand account on what this organization is about, how significant it really is, and what it really does?
If this group is another of the jargon-filled pacifist New Agers who seem to misunderestimate the viciousness of human nature, then I don’t see why conspiracists are so worried. Such people do much talk, little action, and in the end convince no one (of worth) of their ideas. They dream of utopias whilst distopias develop around them. They blabber on and on about this conjunction of the stars, that statement of an ascended master, this value or universal love, this method or that virtue - but talk doesn’t do much.
Now, what wold really be worrisome is if this group had a large, influential piblic outreach, funded key UN programs, had the ears of important UN dignitaries, or engaged in much behind-the-scenes action to bring to pass their vision of a cooperating, peaceful, united, ethical new world. (If this is true, though, they’re failing miserably.)
Is there anyone here who is or was a member of this organization or its affiliates who can shed more light about their actual agenda and their actual effectiveness in executing it?
