Luigi Mangione something something Morality something something Billionaires

Extreme bitterness! Extreme straw men rejected! Extreme butthurt!

Totally bogus!

Right now, right at this moment, with no other changes in the world, with regards to billionaires who exploit and cause mass suffering, I want them to be afraid - so afraid that they embrace progressive policies because they come to believe the alternative is the guillotine. That means decent society needs to see them for what they are - the enemies of decency. At least until our society is significantly remade for the better.

Extreme progressive economic policies! Extreme turn in the public sentiment against exploitative billionaires!

Nothing has ever been more extreme than this!

Only truly extreme posters will believe this! Do you dare be this EXTREME?

Extreme gratitude towards all who have made this thread possible!

Extreme fatigue from a long week! Extreme moderation from @Miller!

Extreme bedtime! Extreme reading of the new Michael Connelly novel! Extreme goodnight!

Oh look, the two most hateful bigots on the Dope have joined forces! May they last as long as Musk and Trump.

I’ve never seen as much public bipartisan agreement on anything in my LIFE, as there was for what Luigi did. That’s all I got for ya.

Extreme Andy is unhinged and entertaining!

Extreme Andy is so unhinged he’s a window.

“Take the locks off the doors! Take the doors themselves off of their hinges!” Who said that?

“Through me the afflatus surging and surging“

and you sleep in the guest room tonight

Random: Happy Cake Day, @Slithy_Tove. Oh frabjous day! I want to take this moment to tell you I very much enjoy your posts, your ideas, and your facility with language. Thanks for keeping shit interesting.

ETA: This is a total drive-by, not an endorsement of anything said in this Pit thread!

Well golly, thank you dear. I guess it’s better to be a jabbering horse’s ass; clever enough to hoof-out semi-cogent post but not smart enough to then click on the trash can icon rather than reply, than a Niobe who’s turned herself to stone yet weeps tears over the sorrows sent by the Gods.

Not really, no; it seems to be a widespread sentiment. Well, to be strictly accurate the sentiment is less “they should be afraid of the guillotine”, than it is “they should be guillotined”. Merely saying that the billionaires should just be afraid is actually pretty mild in comparison.

We already have all-out class warfare; it’s just almost entirely one-sided, the wealthy beating down everyone else as hard as they can with effectively no resistance. They literally rape and pillage at will with no consequences for themselves.

Luigi Mangione stands out not because of his accomplishments, but because he’s such a solitary example.

The rich are scheduled to get, yet another, tax cut while the poors are scheduled to get their food cut.
The upside of the guillotine is that it doesn’t spoil the flavor of the meat.

Ah, right, thanks. I looked up the correct quote.

“Unscrew the locks from the doors !
Unscrew the doors themselves from their jambs ! ”

― Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass

Extreme good morning everyone!

After running into some billionaires and sternly reminding them of their duties and responsibilities towards the rest of humanity, as well as the history demonstrating the greater risk of danger they face if they violate those duties and responsibilities, I went to an extreme grocery store, had extreme waffles, and am about to take my son to extreme tae-kwon-do class!

I hope those billionaires consider what I say and improve their behavior! That would be a good thing, at least for those of us who are extreme!

EXTREME!

It’s pretty frustrating to waste a bunch of time and effort trying to communicate with someone, only to find out they had no interest in reaching an understanding, just in entertaining themselves.

If that’s the type of discourse you want to engage in, suit yourself, but I won’t be making the mistake of wasting my time for your entertainment in the future.

It’s pretty fucking rich for you to call anyone else ‘bad faith’, DemonTree included.

You’re so full of shit (Extreme shit!).

I explained what I meant, using many different words and phrases and explanations, over and over and over again and you kept insisting that I was lying (or mistaken?) about my own words and my own intentions (Extreme intentions!).

And then you act all butthurt when, having tried to explain my own words and my own intentions literally about a dozen times, I start to amuse myself, because it was indeed pretty ridiculous (Extreme silliness!).

Extreme!

But I’m happy to try it yet again. Here goes:

Right now, right at this moment, with no other changes in the world, with regards to billionaires who exploit the vulnerable and cause mass suffering, I think it would be good for society and for the world if they (these particular billionaires) were to feel afraid - so afraid that they embrace progressive policies because they believe the alternative is the guillotine (or other personal danger against them). That means decent society should see them for what they are - the enemies of decency. At least until our society is significantly remade for the better.

Please be very specific, only using these specific words, in that specific context - what is extreme about this sentiment that is specifically only about that group of billionaires who exploit the vulnerable and cause mass suffering?

Why would I do that when the statement under discussion is the one you made earlier, using different words?

I didn’t say this new statement with new words was extreme, so I don’t know why you’re demanding I defend that stance.

Which words are different?
