Lump in Neck

Ok I have a lump on the side of my neck. I just noticed it yesterday. When I woke up yesterday my whole body ached. The night before I worked out. I didn’t noticed anything when I lifted weights, but I got tried very fast when I ran. The next as I said I felt an ache through my body. When I worked out that night I got tried pretty fast. I noticed that my neck was tingling on one side and that is when I noticed the lump. I think it is one on my glands that is swollen. I don’t have a cold or a swore throat. I told my friend about this at work and she said she had a friend with the same symptoms, who died a year later with cancer.

Now, I think I probably just have a cold or some infection, but could this be cancer?

Yes, I know I should go to the doctor.

Possibly a swollen lymph node. I had one when I had a combination throat infection and mono.

GO TO THE DOCTOR!

This happened to me my senior year of high school (~10 years ago). I noticed a lump in my neck in the shower one morning.

Turned out to be early-stage Hodgkins Disease (a form of lymphatic cancer).

Many lymphomas are comparatively easy to treat IF CAUGHT EARLY. If they are allowed to spread, they can become damn difficult to get rid of.

Lump in anything = A visit to the doc.

Ok, I have an appointment for the doctor after work tonight.

Tell us how it turns out!

Problem with my appointment, so I will ahve to go tomorrow.

Don’t freak out, it’s probably nothing, but do get to that doctor.

It could be glands, or it could be a thyroid issue, or it could be you have a funny lump.

Dear Golfer,

I had a lump in my neck, went to the doctor, and it turned out to be a fibroma, a small, benign tumor. Doc assured me that these lumps are very common and most such lumps turn out to be as harmless as was mine. Still, he told me I was wise to have it checked out.

Got an new appointment. I am now pretty sure it is not cancer. I woke up feeling much worse and the gland on the other side of my neck is starting to swell as well. I am have temperature and just feel all around sick. So I am guessing it is the flu, but I want to make sure.

Maybe it’s the mumps? Still nothing to take too lightly, especially if you’re a guy.

It is most likely the just flu. Additional tests will come back Monday, but I am sure it is the flu.
