Lumps on Elbow

I already have made a doctor’s appointment for this.

Lately, I have noticed a lump on my left elbow. But today I discovered another. A doctor will see me in two weeks.

How scared should I be in the mean time? The lumps are small, about pea sized, and moveable. They aren’t particularly soft, and nothing is painful.

Any thoughts are welcome please. Should I be panicking? I don’t like to.

Rule #1 Don’t panic.
I know it sounds trite, but you are doing the right thing. See a doctor, find out what it is. Even if it’s something bad, revert to rule #1. There’s nothing you can do.

And I say this as someone who’s had very serious cancer twice and I’m still here. I know that the acute response is When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout. But that won’t solve anything. Take care and best wishes. From your description, it’s a cyst. Nothing to worry about.

There are lots of things your bumps could be that aren’t very scary. For instance, lipomas (benign tumors of fatty tissue that are easy to remove) might present like that, especially if the lumps are a little squishy and move. You might have gotten hives from contact with something icky, and if so, that should clear up with time and maybe an ointment.

I’d probably be squicked out if it were me, but i don’t think you should worry too much, especially as you are seeing a doctor soon.

Also, as this is kind of medical advice, I’m going to move it to IMHO.

Olecranon bursitis is a type of bursitis that affects the back of the elbow. This is sometimes called Popeye elbow because the bump that develops looks like the cartoon character Popeye’s elbow. Injury, overuse, or prolonged pressure on your elbow can cause this form of bursitis.

Well, I showed the doctor the lumps, and he didn’t seem too worried. He signed me up for an ultra-sound which I will schedule after the holidays.

Some good news, my A1C shows that my diabetes is well controlled.

That is good news. :+1:
