I saw Vincente Minelli’s great movie about Vincent Van Gogh. Great movie!
A few years back, I saw the clip with Kirk Douglas explaining how the movie was made. The clip was most interesting, becaue when the film crew was shooting a scene in a local cafe (in Arles, France-where Van Gogh lived and painted), an old woman saw Douglas and almost fainted-she thought he was Vincent Van Gogh.
Anybody know where the clip can be obtained? The DVD I bought doesn’t contain it.
So…not an Iggy Pop thread?
The featurette about the making of Lust for Life is called Van Gogh: Darkness into Light. It has been shown several times on Turner Classic Movies. You can watch it on TCM’s website, here.
I thought it would be about Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
I just saw it-man, the movie recreated Arles ca. 1890 perfectly!
I haven’t seen Lust for Life, but I’ve seen and recommend Vincent and Theo.
