I just saw the movie on TCM-great stuff! Probably one of Kirk Douglasse’s greatest roles…I’m told that he studied Van Gogh’s life and mannerisms, and even wore one mismatched shoe 9so as to imitate Van Gogh’s limp).
Anyway, I was fortunate to see the additional clip about the making of the film…what a great job! I think it was filmed in 1955-were there people still alive then in Arles, who remembered van Gogh?
