Just chill. You’re not the first newbie (or oldie) that has gone out on a Pit spasm. It’s a dangerous place in here. Take a couple of stabs at mpsim, IMHO and GD.
The board is a cool place, one of the best on the net. We like to keep it that way so we like to make sure everybody has a tough hide.

I have to admit, I would have jumped in early on to defend the actions of the Board and Lynn and Moderators etc, but I tried that yesterday, and we all saw how that worked out…apparantly I just don’t get it. :rolleyes:
inor - you cannot win. The sooner you come to grips with that the happier you will be. Your future has several similar, parallel Universes in it:
In this Universe, you continue to rage against the machine, fight the power, and get banned. You then go on to either continue on with life, or come back as a troll.
You just walk away from this, and continue to post in a reasonable manner. In time, people forget and you make lots of friends.
You see your error (yes, you do not think you have made an error, but you have), apologize, and walk away from this thread. Same results as (2), but people forgive and forget quicker, thus you have more fun.
Like me, you post a Board Meltdown thread somewhere, and blame your issues on booze, drugs, relationship, sexuality, Clinton, Bush, work, past abuse and rape, your dog telling you to “cleanse the city”, or something. Then, 5% of the Board feels for you, 25% of the Board chalks you up as a dangerous, pathetic, pitable, possible psychopath (4 p’s, woo!), and the other 70%, well, to quote that great philospher of our time, Groundskeeper Willie:
So…the future does not look all that bad. Universes (2) and (3) are not so unpleasant…why not try them?

I would take it apart, but I did that with your first post directed to me, and that action has resulted in this thread. I did not receive anything along the lines of “Well, yes, I see you were trying to be humorous and have some fun, that Zette did, in fact, initiate the hostilities and that you responded in best pit style, and have done so to every instance of rudeness since. I did come rudely down on you out of nowhere and I see why you got angry. You pointed out the inconsistency of my actions very well with your arguments and cites. I could have phrased my comments better. But you did make the following mistakes: etc., and you really do need to do things such and such way from now on…”
Instead, you post a reply as ungracious as your first and in which the third sentence contains more self-serving slant than I have ever seen in such a small collection of words.

I have not lost, not that it’s such a big issue. I would like to say, though, that I have apologised for at least one flame that I later felt was in the wrong, and for the infractions of the written rules I have come to see that I committed. Someone up above there mentioned ‘unwritten rules’- that, I can’t reply to. The favorite, most often use of proving legitimacy here is to provide cites. Unwritten rules?
But that does seem to be the issue here. However, I have apologised for the infractions of the written rules, more than once now, and am not sure about apologising for infractions of the unwritten ones. I don’t even know what they are. I will say though, that one of them seems to be ‘Don’t flame the regulars’.

I am much disappointed by the glaring lack of quality in your second post. The sparkling wit and scathing commentary that simply infused your first post was entirely absent. The complete lack of insult and relevance was absolutely astounding. Hmmm, indeed. Why, the difference between the two was like night and day.
Why, I ruminated, would this be? Night and day, thought I, night and day. Quite. And then, it dawned on me, old thing, what the possible explanation was: That your initial post was put up several hours before your second. That you purchased the contents of your inital post from some humor scribe, no doubt a fellow resident of the group home, yes? And your second post was formulated after said scribe had retired for the evening, leaving you, sadly, to compose on your own.
