Does some Doper have a good ear, and like Classic Rock? What is being sung towards the end of “What a Fool Believes” by the Doobies?

I’ll start…
“Love can come, and love can go, but why can’t love ___”?
This last line is virtually washed out by being “oversung” by the main lyrics. However, if someone has some stereo equipment with some bells and whistles, maybe they can boost the track (if that’s the proper term) these lesser lyrics are on?

Maybe someone knows? Hint: You can try checking, but the lyric websites I’ve found haven’t helped me on this.

“but why can’t love return once more?”, I think.

Anything else? He says something like “Who’s got the power?” and “I believe she’s never going away” in there as well.

I’ll have to re-listen to this song. I guess your lines (above) are sung in the very last few lines while the
song fades out? Or, could it reiterating “the wise man has the power to reason away…”?
