I’m the studio manager for a formerly-small design firm. We were bought out a little while ago, and we just received all the fonts from our parent company so we can help produce some of their materials. We’re talking about A LOT of fonts, and they’re a mess. I’m trying to organize them and eliminate duplicates. I’ve tried using FontExplorer and Suitcase Fusion, but they both choke on the number of fonts. Is there another application someone would recommend?
I’m a graphic designer on a Mac, and while I’ve used Suitcase Fusion in the past, I currently use Linotype FontExplorer X. I currently have 4924 fonts in 1672 families in my font library (I only activate a certain number of standard stuff and other stuff gets activated as-needed).
I’m dealing with tens of thousands of fonts.
Honestly I don’t know if Linotype Font Explorer is better or worse than Fusion and the like when it comes to massive amounts of typefaces, but it might be worth a shot.
