Mac Question

I would like to set my display to have a green aspect. If you think about the way you can make the display “warmer” at night, to reduce sleep disturbance, I’m looking for a way to do that but with green tones, instead of amber ones. Any ideas?

Open the Display Calibrator Assistant and change the Target White Point.

Can you tell me which version of the OS that is? I’m behind on updates and may need to catch up in order to implement this.
Thank you.

I don’t know of the Display Calibrator Assistant (which may be a 3rd party addition) but if you go to System Preferences/Display and go to the Color tab you can nake a new profile and futz with the calibration settings.

I’ve done some of that and I’m not getting very far. I’ll take another look. Thank you.

I found the Calibrator assistant and the Target White Point option. (Huzzah) In the color tab, if you select Calibrate, you’ll get the assistant. Unfortunately, the adjustments seem to be along the cool (blueish) to warm (amber) spectrum. A color chart is visible, but I don’t see a way to move the target white point in the direction of green.

Are you using an external display? Those almost always have a custom RGB setup where you can move the R and B sliders down while raising the G slider.

Why wouldn’t you just use the built-in Night Shift?

I use this app, which has several color filters, including green options:

It only has four green pre-sets but you can tailor them a bit using the dim slider.
