I typically get either Madden or NCAA Football each year. I just made the switch to PS3 earlier this year and got Madden for the first time in 3-4 years and found the gameplay not as enjoyable/doable, especially at first. I’m leaning heavily towards NCAA this year, especially since early reviews indicate they’ve fixed a perennial problem with screen passes and draw plays being unusable. The only reason I’m wavering is that I think the Gus Johnson announcing for Madden will be freaking awesome, and I’ve heard about as much Corso in NCAA as I can take. What are you guys thinking about doing?
My friends and I are getting NCAA. Madden has just been so burdensome the last several years.
Corso is not in NCAA 11, if that makes a difference.
I, for one, kinda miss the big galoot, but YMMV and all that.
I can say, after playing a few games with my son, that screens and draws work much, much better in NCAA 11. They have actually become useful plays. I also personally applaud the return of Formation Subs … now, if they could just bring back created playbooks, we’d be back to the Dynasty-riffic awesomeness that was NCAA 07 (which I still play, by the way).
Anyway, can’t compare to recent Maddens as I haven’t played any of those for nigh-on a decade, but NCAA 11 is by far the best next-gen football game I’ve seen.
I’m not into [real] college football at all, but when buying games I almost always go with NCAA Football. I like having a constantly revolving roster of randomly generated players; it keeps the game fresh. Madden tends to get boring trading around the same players season after season. I also really enjoy the recruiting. There’s been plenty of times I’ve actually simmed all the season’s games just to get to the offseason activities and build my team.
Man, I thought I was the only one who did that. What’s sad is that I work as a recruiting manager for a major university (one w/o football, unfortunately) so you’d think I’d want to get away from work, but no.
It seems likes its common to get one game or the other, but not both. I’ve never had both from the same year. I’m going to have to see some video of Madden and hear what my man Gus has to say. Either game will probably be the first to dislodge CoD: MW2 from my ps3; I’m hooked on the online play, need to try that w football.
Personal opinion… Madden. NCAA is just so easy to play on offense. We had both NCAA and Madden one year just to import draft classes, Madden is a challenge to play on Madden level (at least for the first few seasons), NCAA is not.
It seems I can’t post more than 2 sentences at a time right now. Could someone speak - at length - on the mechanics and options of setting up an NCAA 11 dynasty league online?
