My plan would be to host over on GIraffe Boards, which has a dedicated mafia board and is free to join.
We had a very active community there for over a decade, but the majority of us appear to have gotten played out and it actually fizzled. It’s literally been game after game for 10+ years.
I’m a teacher about to go on summer vacation. I am ready to plan and play a game and I thought it would be a great opportunity to open it up to anyone, new or old.
Mafia is a game that typically has two teams. One team is Town, which is the majority of players. The other team is “scum”, which is the bad guys(also called the Mafia). They only consist of a few players.
Mafia-scum know each others identities and can even speak to each other in a secret forum.
Town only know their own individual identity. Their job is to figure out who the Mafia/scum are.
Some townsfolks are vanilla. No power, just playing in the dark and trying fo figure it out. Some Town have minor powers, like protection or investigation.
Each day(lasts about 5 real world days), the players “vote out” one player, who is then “killed”. Once dead, we learn who they were.
At night(lasts 2 days or so), Scum kill one player in the game and possibly activate some other bonus powers.
Goal for Town is to destroy all scum-mafia.
Goal for Mafia-scum is to kill all Town, or get it to even numbers, where they win by default.
Anyway, it’s a fun game and completely simple to understand once you are in the game.
If I had about 10 or so folks interested here, I’d be willing to plan and start a game. I can PM you here, assuming you have PM’s turned on.
