Mafia: Goontown [Game Over]

Vote Mahaloth

I should have stayed there yesterday. Frustration reaction to my vote followed by inaction. Passive Scum play I think.

Glad I never asked the Professor to mix a drink for me.

Death by taffy puller? That’s…new.

That was, er, graphic. Bye Prof. :frowning:

Can you explain your vote?

Well, Biotop appears to be on a mission to lynch me. I really don’t know why, but I think his moves are so aggressive, he probably isn’t scum. He thinks I’m being passive and that my passive play makes me scum. I think he’s being way overaggressive and too determined to lynch me and I think it makes him town.

:shrugs:

Yes. I voted for Mahaloth because I have seen over the years he is more passive when Scum. I wanted to see his reaction yesterday to my prodding. There was frustration over my vote, but no suspicion was directed at me. No response was made directly to me even though we both know each other rather well from these boards. My case was decried by Mahaloth as “terrible”, but instead of responding to me, Mahaloth said he wished he hadn’t posted at all. Again, from my experience, Town Mahaloth is not afraid to make cases on Day 1 or to respond aggressively when called for. While personal reasons may have intervened, I await something to show me a player who wants to find Scum, and not a player who wants, by his own admission, not to be noticed.

Not that I don’t want to be noticed, I just to want to get lynched Day 1(again) for something I was just saying/commenting-on in passing. I have a reputation for getting lynched early.

The reality is this, though. If you really think I’m scum and I’m being passive in this game and that my apparent passivity is a trait of scumminess, go ahead and vote me. A bad case, I think, but a case.

That’s reasonable, but it’s not what you said earlier:

So were you quiet because you were really busy, or were you quiet because you were trying to avoid getting lynched early for a passing comment?

So one reason to lynch PP is that he was viewed as a threat, either generally (strong player) or specifically (targeting scum in this game). Does that sound right? I don’t have time for a deep dive now but I should on Monday. M
Of course it could be a fakeout, yadda yadda, but we should try to learn something from the lynch…

Professor Pepperwinkle had more posts than anyone else. At End of Game that could matter.

Both

Vote Mahaloth

For his odd disappearance during a crucial time.

Again, his last post in Day 1 was 10/3/2018 @ 10:04 PM (#285).

From that post until the end of Day 1, it was radio silence (17 hours, 56 minutes). He had a vote locked in for Stranger all the way back on 9/30 (#96). He then never came back in the final real-life day of Day 1 to check in and re-evaluate things, or even chime in.

And thus far, the majority of his posts have been to defend himself rather than scum hunting.

I mean, Mahaloth’s vote was basically an OMGUS because he didn’t like Stranger’s vote. And now we know Stranger is a dead Town. Perhaps Stranger was on to something and Mahaloth wanted to put a stop to that.

I really have no way to respond to anything here other than “I’m busy” and “Biotop’s case is lame”.

I don’t have any hot leads or strong inclinations, either. I think the cases on me are noise and because of that noise, it can be hard to hear anything right now other than that.

I don’t think Biotop is scum. I have no idea on Hi Neighbor. If I had to choose, I’d vote High Neighbor because of the second-vote thing and how the vote was determined/justified. I think Hi There wanted to vote me, so he/she went back and tried to reverse engineer justification. Found I didn’t post for 17 hours and was satisfied that it was enough. The idea of voting me preceded the found reason.

At some point of course you will have to choose.

You don’t have any “hot leads” or “strong inclinations.” Fine. But why aren’t you trying to get them? If Scum don’t come to you (and they usually don’t from my experience), then you have to try to go to them, right?

Hi, Neighbor,

Can you respond to Mahaloth’s post. What was your order of thinking that led to your Mahaloth vote. I see your reasons. I am more interested in how you came to them.

Sorry, dude, despite being wrong, I still think Stranger was the best vote yesterday. I did vote him and never saw any case better. I’m not sure what more I can do. You are acting like I didn’t play at all and that’s just not:

  1. fair

  2. true

You seem pretty much driven to lynch me and if you can get others to go along, I can’t stop that. You have a better case than Hi Neighbor, who clearly fabricated a case to justify putting me “two votes up”, so to speak.

I am only driven to lynch Scum. If you are not Scum then make a better case for lynching someone else.

Has anyone looked at Prof P’s voting history yesterday? I’m with snoe. I probably won’t have time to look at it until tomorrow.

Not really much to work with here.

So are we to (supposed to) believe that he was killed because he was on to Johnny Bravo?
