Mafia: Mutiny on the SS Incorrigible

Goodness, at this point say anything. I can’t believe how dead this game has been. You can’t all be over in the scum board trying to figure out how to manipulate the ranks.

<snipped>

actually no. i think lynching anyone who you don’t think has a modicum of a chance of being scum is the height of folly.

now having said that i make a universal exception for getting rid of lurkers. and i think i have elaborated on the whys and wherefores enough on that particular position. but i have also evolved into lurking being so anti town as to be de facto scummy. ipso fuckto, lynching them be otay.

interestingly enough the whole lurker thing has really morphed into something unintended, i believe. if there is no game/mod mechanism to deal with lurking/non participation what is to be done? lynch them based on the lack of something or what? it seems that recently there has been movement to letting a town vig, if one exists, take care of the problem at Night. which allows the group to lynch based on evidence, rather than the lack thereof, and provides a potential vig a “safer” target at Night. but it really kind of nerfs that role. to some extent it just makes a vig an in game half-assed mod.

because of the actual rule set in this game, however, this may in fact end up being a town benefit.

<snipped>

this is funny.

i have the opposite problem. almost universally i can come up with a reason for each and every one of you to be scum. maybe not in the first Day or so but certainly by Day 3.

but i don’t like the criteria of “… less likely to help catch scum in the future.” in order to widen my net. it is a near certainty that town will lynch town. does that condem anyone voting for said town lynch? i think not. how a person arrives at a vote is arguably more important than the actual vote. and in certain games it is almost like you have access to the spoiler boards in seeing stuff and in others you might as well be playing checkers. and sometimes those positions switch in the middle of an individual game.

What may end up being a town benefit?

<snipped>

jeebus did skeezy pass you the crack pipe normal?

if we have a vig.

Yeah, probably. You see it differently?

I still don’t get your vig comment. Unless you were saying that the rule set is a benefit because a vig that shoots badly will be automatically shut down right then and there?

it seems to me that our first order of business is ensuring that the EO position is held by a confirmed loyal, followed possibly by the SD?

well that’s part of it. the other part i was thinking of was that if we decide that there is a lurker issue that needs to be dealt with then regardless of the alignment of said vig, especially if they are scum, then we can take care of it without blowing a lynch.

i mean even if the hypothetical lurker who is killed by hypothetical scum vig is town it is at least Night resolved. and if said lurker ends up being scum will hypothetical scum vig take care of hypothetical scum lurker? and if hypothetical lurker is in fact town does the security person (whoever is responsible for unbriging) release that person the next Day?

all sorts of interesing information can be gleaned from those types of interactions.

actually you want your engineering and medical folks confirmed townies. that way you can trust their information. the other folks can be analyzed on the decisions and actions that they take.

I’m still not even sure I see the advantage that the engineer brings, to be honest.

eta: am I correct in the understanding that there is only a single pair of loyal Mates?

<snipped>

it’s a combo wacher tracker.

<snipped in its entirety

wacher = watcher.

and fubs no editing.

remember preview and NETA are your friends.

although, apparantly, i have not figured out the preview thing.

Ok, so I have finally gotten a minute to catch up on the game.

Nothing to see here really is there?

So let’s do this:
NAF1138 - Loyal Cracker

You are a Loyal crew member. You win when all Mutinous crew members are dead.

You are a Cracker. One time only, you may release at Night one prisoner of your choice (except yourself) from the Brig. The release will happen at the beginning of the Day. This does not remove any standing arrest orders.
See what happens.

Not that I’m necessarily doubting you, but I have to ask, NAF: why claim now?

Why not. Nothing else happening in this game.

NETA: I am all about creating traction, and have learned from experience not to bother asking other people to create situations for me or waiting for situations to arise naturally.

Sometimes something needs to happen.

Bad, fubbleskag! :mad:

Please do not edit your posts. This is my only warning. If you or anyone else edits, a cosmic “accident” will remove the editor from the game.

All righty.

That’s all well and good, NAF, but it doesn’t absolve you from actually talking about other things.

There can be multiples (or zero) of any special role, just asked. Including the Ring Leader, isn’t that fun?
