Mafia: Mutiny on the SS Incorrigible

I have some pretty stupid reasoning against me for why people are voting for me, but this has to be the absolute stupidest.
First of all, I’m not PUSHING anything, I’m claiming because I’m one of the players with the most votes…
..but no matter, second, I don’t understand or see how you get off saying “as though it means something”. What the hell are you on? OF COURSE it means something. That has to be one of the most blatant ANTI-Town things I’ve ever seen said. You’re basically saying a pro-town hacker is OF NO USE to Town…because you (and others) continue (for some odd and very suspicious-looking reason) to refuse to explain why you can’t give credit to the thought that I COULD be a loyal hacker rather than a mutinous one.

I still need to make another 2 votes, and I probably won’t be around tomorrow morning.

**Vote: Drain Bead **Where the heck is she?
**Vote: Stanislaus **I didn’t think his argument about me not taking advantage of my role made much sense.

No, you didn’t:

And while you were in the lead, you were a whole 1 vote ahead of three other players. It was not a panic situation, and your claim was unneccessary.

For Stanislaus, when Idle claimed it was:

That’s a good point, but at the time, by his own words, Idle thought it was three. Five is a post-hoc justification.

<snipped>

how so?

unvote inner stickler, peek

vote maha

first i arouse suspicion because i post too little (last game), now because i post too much. jeebus. maybe i will start calling you goldilocks.

vote fubs

his post and reasoning just sucks. it seems like the default position on this board is to vote me as a fallback on a just because or tired meme reason. to be honest, it just becomes annoying at some point.

i think i will copyright “tired meme reason”.

and idle considering you have most likely seen me vote for story right out of the chute at least 10 times i am not sure how “sneaky” it is. unless it’s like seeing the sun rise in the east. tricksy ol’ sun. keeps doing the same thing over and over.

And then Natlaw posted after that second quote and showed me I was wrong. It was really five people with me on their voting list…which did put me in the lead at the time.
Cite.

So yes, I did.

Which doesn’t matter since “3”, at the time, still would have been in the lead in votes.

I don’t remember you ever voting for Story “regularly”, no, much less in a game he’s not even in. I don’t ever remembering seeing you vote for a Fred.

and just another thought. and this may be “duh” to the rest of the folks but it just kind of occurred to me. if there is anyway to get a town vig into engineering or medical that’s where you want them. preferably medical. a town vig in that position could get an alignment reveal and then take care of a scum problem the following Night. whereas a tracker/watcher combo will have to wait a cycle to fire away. now having said that you would ideally like to park a mason in either of those positions. the problem being that if you get a confirmed mason there they most likely won’t have much of a shelf life.

What is your reasoning that the engineer and doctor should not reveal their result immediately (since if they do then any commissar knows it as well)?

Unvote Drain Bead as I said before better to brig lurker/non-participant than to lynch them.

Vote fluiddruid my preferred lynch Today
Vote Idle Thoughts still considering to unvote “to safe the power” except I feel he’s more scum to my than Hal at this point.
Vote Hal Briston but rather brig as well. Since he still has his random votes standing I unvoted DB not him.
Vote Mahaloth for the sparse contribution/votes others mentioned, plus a poke to get an investigation in.

Bleh, I hope I’m home in time before Dusk, not unvoting now because I prefer a Idle, Hal or fluiddruid (not that likely) lynch over a no lynch (which happens if I unvote and no one else votes if I count right).

Although you were corrected afterwards, you introduced your Day One claim with the words: “since I now have three votes”. I take that to mean that at the moment you actually claimed, you believed you had three votes.

Having 3 votes while four other players have 2, more than 48 hours before the end of the Day, is not a position of great peril. There were many ways for you to escape your not-all-that-impending doom. Waiting and seeing how votes evolved would have been one. Do you think you would have more votes than Hal right now if you hadn’t claimed?

If you are a Town power-role, you’ve “saved” yourself from Town at the expense of drawing the attention of Scum. There’s no Doc. There was already one other claimed Town role when you outed yourself, so you can’t rely on the undivided attentions of officers to protect you.

The more I look at this, the more I think that you flinched too hard at the distant prospect of a lynch. And that’s a Scum trait.

well initially i don’t think there is much difference. because if either of them “target” someone as a results of their investigation and it ends up askance then they will most assuredly swing the next Day. but it certainly would behoove a scum doc to “conveniently” investigate a gf, get a town result, and still not have lied.

and engineering is kind of funky. because if held by scum i would imagine that they will get a “no result”. however, in this specific instance if our mason gets watched and subsequently ends up dead then bingo we have a live one. and if engineering ends up with someone else i would expect that person to generate a lot of heat tomorrow. however, i would assume that makes a townie engineer pretty much toast toNight.

but now that i type that out maybe it is better to leave a mason out of engineering. because as long as they are alive scum have to not kill them. otherwise engineering will need to have something to say at Daybreak. and the more i think about it the more sense it kind of makes to have a scum in engineering as long as there is a mason alive. if the mason lives then engineer should pop dead. and if mason dies then engineering should have a result.

so yeh, if you think i am scum, you don’t want to lynch my ass otherwise i be fucked manana.

neta: and i never really answered your question, natlaw. i absolutely expect engineering and medical to reveal the results of their investigations during their next login session or at most in the first post they make to the thread at the beginning of the Day or Night as the case may be.

Correct, I thought it was three instead of two, however I knew it was five when including all of the total votes. I didn’t say five, however, because I was only counting the ones that counted at the time…which I believed was three, at the time.

So whether you want to pick the nit if it was three or five…it doesn’t matter…I had the most number of votes EITHER WAY, at the time, and I didn’t feel waiting around for more asinine votes to stack up was the way to go, especially with how seemingly dead the game was for awhile there. I don’t know about you, but in my opinion, three-five votes (and being the current vote leader) is the time to consider claiming in a game. Your mileage must obviously vary.

I have no doubt I would have.

Yeah? So what are you going to say if I come up as Town, huh?

Hell, speaking as someone who has claimed (as a power role) even having NO VOTES in a game, it shouldn’t be any surprise to you, or anyone else, that I’d claim. Seriously, you’re acting like me claiming on Day one is something new.

I just lot a whole post to a mis-click.

OK, first
Unvote Stanislaus

Vote Drain Bead for the reasons I had been voting for Stanislaus

back with a real post in a second.

vote fubbleskag

Part OMGUS, part those are some scummy reasoning you are using there buddy. You find my posts to be to combative? Aside from my thinking that you are a toasted nutball for feeling that way, what does that even mean in the context of the game? Please explain.

The vote for Idle sucks too. And falling back on your newbieness is no excuse for saying I don’t know who to vote for so I am going to vote for people that others have voted for. Scummy scummy scummy. Do not like.

Fluid, I haven’t forgotten about you. You are up next now that I have all my votes in.
