For what it’s worth, I considered promoting TexCat to ExOp to take the Captain’s chair in my stead, but I can’t really come up with a compelling reason for townies to accept this move. I realized I wouldn’t, either, on the other side, barring confirmed town status.

Well that’s about the worst of all possible worlds, isn’t it? grumble
Day Two will begin Friday, Mar 25, at 12 noon PT (3pm ET).
Pleo, what’s the tie-breaker again?
Ties are broken by the rank of the voters. The highest ranked voter for Drain Bead was above the highest ranked voter for Hal Briston.
well that sucks a big ol’ fat hairy one.
<snipped>
scum tell.
loyal is not underlined.
So, I’ve been thinking about this post that Pleonast made in my previous game(Hotel of Heroes). I waited until now to mention it since Day was/is more for lynch decisions and so forth.
Anyway, he posted the following post:
In that post, he critiqued me by saying that my request not to obsess on breaking the game since it is discouraging to new players. He said:
Now, in this game, we have been told that we are discouraged to have Night strategy, which seems to be oddly similar in that it is a guideline and request, not a direct order/rule.
So, basically, we have open Night strategy, right? We don’t have to stop talking strategy at Night since it isn’t a rule, right?
sure maha. whatever.
results?
I take it as “take a break folks, everyone needs a rest”, personally. But yeah. Results?
I just want to point out that if Inner Stickler was to be arranged to receive the doctor’s results, the proper procedure would have been for fluiddruid to swap him with Mahaloth after (or for that matter prior to) Mahaloth making his choice. The lynch, even if it had been Hal Briston lynched, would not have changed anything. Inner Stickler would have gotten the doctor’s results and then also acted as the Engineer during the night (had Hal Briston been lynched); or gotten the doctor’s results and remained doctor otherwise.
Since I had it backwards myself, I find it hard to blame fluiddruid for not making this move (despite suspecting her on other grounds), but going forward this is something that really needs to be kept straight. If Inner Stickler is in fact town, we’ve missed a golden opportunity here.
**Ship’s Doctor examination result
Idle Thoughts is Loyal.

Tell me something I don’t know.
But seriously, thanks for investigating.
Now watch me be Night-killed. : p
What I have seen is that when there is no enforced fluff night, players discuss to the death the events of the day at night and then there is no talking the next day.
couple of thoughts since i don’t expect to survive the Night.
first, i think using engineering as a testing ground for alignment makes sense. as long as we have confirmable town (or better yet confirmed town) they should never occupy this position. if they do in fact land there then the promoter/demoter needs to use their Day power to get them out.
second, i am a great proponent of lurker lynching. however, going after one on Day 1 is something i have only done as scum. i typically will give folks a little benefit of the doubt on participation out of the gate. using that as a primary decision lynch making tool this early reeks of scum opportunism. coupled with this is some of the justification for some lame ass votes (no offense intended). i think most of the folks that play this game are a heck of a lot more astute than letting their alignment dictate their play style.
crap, minor emergency. back in a bit.
At Night, Floyd performs maintenance. Please let Floyd through. Watch the tram car please.
Well fuck fuckkity fuck fuck fuck. When I didn’t get back to finish out my voting post, I figured “Well, hell with it – I’ll be spaced and even though finding scum would be a helluvalot better, my lynching would be about as good a bad kill as there is”.
Or, it could go in a complete other direction.
Well, my apologies for my Day 1 uselessness – I’ll do everything in my power to be of more use Tomorrow (and I’m sure I’ll be here, since there’s no way in hell scum are nightkilling a heavily-suspected townie).
If I didn’t know you were from around here before, I would now.
Natlaw is killed and was Loyal Crew.
