Peekercpa, mine’s ancient, and I know the new one’s are a bit different, but I just go under the sym(bol) key, and get my brackets that way. If that doesn’t work, you can find the manual to your BB online. If you’re used to just coding by clicking stuff in advanced mode, you’re gonna wanna check out the “vB code” link below the quick reply box. It’s actually pretty easy. When I occasionally hit up my parents’ pc for the SDMB, I still use the code, because I no longer have any clue how to do it the “easy” way!
You are right Ice Cream Man. It was W F Tomba that made the statement along those lines. The fact that MTS agreed with me to vote for you makes me highly suspicious of him as well.

A vote based on name or post count is essentially random, so I don’t see the difference there.
The point of random votes on Day One is just to get conversation going. We have no information whatsoever to go on, so we have to get people talking, and one way to do that is to put pressure on by voting.
I personally like to vote for lurkers on Day One. With that in mind:

I have to say, your aggressive attitutude doesn’t really work for me. It seems like you’re throwing a lot of suspicion and I don’t know how to interpret it.
First you accused me of something but don’t vote for me. In doing so you got MadTheSwine to vote for me based off your misinformation. Then when I pointed it out, you took the opportunity to switch the suspicion to him but still you didn’t vote for him.
I dunno, it seems like it could be manipulative. Almost like you’re trying to steer the votes while not voting for those people yourself.
I’m not saying I suspect you or anything. I feel like it’s too early to tell much at this point (which is why I’m staying with my randomly determined vote). Just letting you know that your aggressive style could be easily misinterpreted.
… or maybe I’m just being over analytical.
One last thing BT. How do you “hi light” someone else’s post to include in a quote tag. Or is that even possible?

I tend to just hit “reply” underneath the post I want to quote. If you do that, it will show you how to format quote tags. Also, sometimes I cut and paste using my trackwheel. I know yours has a nubbly bit in the middle rather than a trackwheel, and I’m not quite sure how that works.
Oh and BTW on this aggressive perception that some have commented on:
