I can see where that would be difficult
. (BTW taking a hint from percypercy, what’s the cats’ opinion of fluiddruid?)
As we aren’t doing anything else by the way, here’s vote pattern info for the last two days. And Idle Thoughts, please note Blastermaster didn’t seem to think it would cause an issue when he switched votes.
Day Two
P1056 Gadarene 10 hours left
P1079 Gadarene 45 minutes left
Day Three
P1335 Gadarene - 11 hours left
P1344 Gadarene - circa 7 hours left
Okay. Well. I’m very suspicious of her still and of CaerieD. Those two top it off.
I’m also very suspicious of you, though, tirial and rounding out my top shady list is still Millit the Frail.
Those are my top suspicions…however, as of late, other people have grown in suspicion (like Rachm Qoch and Lemur).
So here’s what I think.
I think I’m right in thinking at least one of my top four is scum. really, odds are they have to be. Heck, maybe even two or even three but odds are, at least one is. I doubt I’m so good as to actually predict and get all three or four or however many scum members there are in one blow.
That would mean I’m right about one but wrong about the rest. Thing is…which one? I thought fluiddruid was one but now I’m not so sure. Her defense really made me rethink and start to believe her. Plus this bandwagon on her is just IMMENSE now. Now she may be scum and she may be not, but regardless of if I unvote her, she’s probably gone. If I unvote her and she is scum, well, at least she’ll die anyway…but that might not look good on me. If I unvote her and she’s pro-town, well, then that just leaves us with a million people who voted for her last round.
But like I said to CaerieD a few times…if you’re unsure, then unvote and vote for someone else you’re also suspicious of. So I’m going to take my own advice and unvote fluiddruid and vote CaerieD.
Then we have Rachem and SCL. Again, both of these I’m highly suspicious of and the reasons why can be found in past posts of mine in here. But who is one and who isn’t again? Maybe they’re both scum. Maybe neither is scum. But I have suspicions of both so I’d like to think and hope maybe one (or both) would be.
And then there’s the people I trust. I always said (earlier) that I thought it was foolish to say who you trusted in this game, yet I caved in and did it. Why did I do this? It only opens the door for REAL SCUM to see that you trust them and know that they can take advantage of you. Become buddy buddy with you. I see that Blaster Master did this with me a few times and what’s that supposed to do? Reassure me? Instead it only comes off as false reassurance. I’ve learned now you just can’t trust anyone in this game. Not anyone. Not even yourself…because if you’re really protown, even you could be wrong.
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone I thought was town turned out to be scum.
And about those I’m not sure of…well, I’m stil not sure of them. Some things Lemur said kinda tripped my meter. And when I made my huge list, I said I was suspicious of some before and he was one of them. But where does that leave me? NOWHERE. Back at square one.
So basically this: I think one or two of the people I’m suspicious of the most is scum. Not all. But one or two. That means I’m wrong on at least two others, but maybe more.
Therefore I’m voting for the one I’m most suspicious of as of late: CaerieD, who has topped fluiddruid in my mind.
If fluiddruid is town…well, I guess I had good instint. If she’s scum, then I was wrong about CaerieD, but at least I voted for someone else not in any danger of being lynched.
I also think that both SCL and Rachm are scum.
And as for those I said I thought was town? Forget about it. The slate is wiped clean. I’m distrustful of everyone now.
Wow, the fluiddruid bandwagon has really taken off this morning.
I have a bad feeling about this, and have all in-game day. I strongly suspect fluiddruid, but something doesn’t smell right about the way her lynch has happened. All day fluiddruid has been in the lead, and if she is scum, I would have expected at least a little movement trying to come up with realistic candidates. For the last couple of real-life days I’ve been trying to wrap my head around the idea that she might not be scum, and I’ve convinced myself that it is a real possibility. I was hoping to get a real, in-depth review of the thread in before trying to present an alternate theory, but I’ve run out of time, and now I fear I’m too late.
I really hope fluiddruid is scum. I can’t in good conscience vote for her, being as divided as I am. Not that my vote would make much of a difference at this point anyway.
I really wanted to make a strong case for those I most suspect, but work is being busy today, so I don’t think I’ll have time. That being said, my current suspicion list, in order of scuminess, is:
CaerieD:
As I said yesterday, she’s felt scummy to me all game. I put her in the Projammer and fluiddruid trifecta due to her defense of fluiddruid, but I think I was right about her being scum, but for the exact opposite reason I should have been. She was defending fluiddruid, but at a time it seemed very likely fluiddruid would be lynched. If CaerieD is scum she would know if fluiddruid is or isn’t, and if fluiddruid is town, CaerieD would want to seem like the voice of reason, so defend fluiddruid to the end. I’ve seen scum buddy up and defend townies in the other game, and I think it’s what might have happened here.
There are definite holes in that theory, but it’s the best I have right now to explain my suspicions of CaerieD. Other than that, it’s mostly a gut feeling based on a number of other posts and general behavior that comes off as scummy. I’ll try to elaborate tomorrow once I have more time.
These players have been pinging my scumdar to a certain degree:
Lemur866
DiggitCamara
Blaster Master
I don’t think all of them can be scum together. For example, Lemur866 seems to have consistently been going after CaerieD. This could be a calculated move on his part to distance himself, but at this point I doubt it. Blaster Master has been going after both CaerieD and Lemur866 (I think, I’m going by memory here). I’ve been back and forth on my suspicion of Blaster Master, sometimes thinking he’s town, sometimes scum, so I’m really not sure about him. These are the people who just don’t feel straight-up to me right now.
Sorry this post is so poorly thought out. I saw the talk about stopping the day early and decided it’s time to post my thoughts as soon as possible since it doesn’t look like I’m going to get any time to review the thread before it’s too late.
Vote CaerieD.
Updated Updated Vote Count
11 – fluiddruid (tirial, SnakesCatLady, Blaster Master, Omi No Kami, Millit the Frail, Lightnin’, Lemur866, Hal Briston, ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies, CaerieD, Rachm Qoch)
2 – CaerieD (Idle Thoughts, nesta)
1 – Lightnin’ (DiggitCamara)
1 – SnakesCatLady (fluiddruid)
Everyone has now voted. The day ends in six hours.
Snipped to show just this part.
Why do you doubt it? It’s very plausible that scum would not only fight with each other and be suspicious of each other in the game but also VOTE for each other now and again. It’s just smart playing. I wouldn’t base it on who was siding with who or who was against who. Heck, a few people on my top suspicion list are actively suspicious of each other. But not until I know who was who and who was what do I think it’s impossible for scummies to fight.
Accidentally posted this in another thread the first time. All hail the edit button.
For those who are uncomfortable with the fluiddruid bandwagon, some hypotheticals…
Scenario A: She is town, and the mafia in our midst are casually intermingling their votes for yet another day of town-on-town violence
Scenario B: She is scum, and the mafia can’t dig her out of the hole she’s in without digging themselves into other holes, so she’s the sacrificial lamb.
Scenario C: She is scum, and the mafia are casually intermingling their votes in the hopes that precedent paranoia of Scenario A will spread through the town players in time to allow her to escape during cause late-day chaos.
These are admittedly not the only possibilities, but they’re the ones going through my mind right now.
I feel like today is very different in tone from the past three days. Minimal vote-changing, only a few players with any votes to their names, an almost-sure result early in the day. Therefore, I’m thinking that we’re at B rather than C. C would probably make for a day that feels more like A (which is what we’ve had so far).
By the way, I’m going to put my signature, with a link to the spreadsheet I’ve made, at the bottom of every few posts I make. I’m trying very hard to update it in real time, but I’m most likely going to make mistakes, so correct me if you can.
Considering the last minute vote swings so far in this game, I figure I’d better get a defense out now just to be safe. On top of the votes from nesta and Idle Thoughts, there are several other people who think that I’m likely scum.
Frankly, after what happened on Day 3, I was hoping that the Mafia would kill me in the night and deprive the town of a red herring, but of course I’ve become a big enough target that this isn’t going to happen. My anti-strategical flailing drew far too much attention to me and, much like I’d theorized before, the Mafia aren’t going after those townies who have been accused by other townies. They can get our type during the day easily enough.
Judging by the stubbornness that’s been prevalent in this game so far, I imagine there’ll be a good bandwagon going against me on Day 5 if I survive this Day and the Night, since that seems to be the incredibly poorly thought out plan around here. Get two main suspects, lynch one, add on a new suspect, lynch one of the two, etc. And that’s been going so well for us so far, hasn’t it? So, prognosticating here, this is what I see happening: fluiddruid gets lynched. She either comes up scum or town.
[ul]
[li]If she’s scum, I get lynched because I defended her so valiantly on Day 3.[/li][li]If she’s town, I get lynched because I changed my mind and voted for her today.[/li][/ul]
Oh, there are going to be other reasons offered for why I should be lynched, I’m sure, but that’s what it’s mostly going to come down to, isn’t it? The main thing I have going against me is my voting record which, admittedly, sucks, but you know what? None of yours have been any better. Not a one of you so far has voted for confirmed scum (except, perhaps, **Kyrie **and scum throwing deflector votes). Yeah, I waffle. I’ve got a history of changing my mind within the last twelve hours of a day. I’ve posted some analysis and theories that nobody else agrees with.
But, really, I’m just a Vanilla Citizen who’s had some poor luck and has made some bad decisions. That’s all. If a townie had to be sacrificed, I’d be the first to put myself on the block because I don’t think I’ve been helping my side at all, but we can’t afford to keep lynching townies.
It’s definitely a possibility that both are scum, but I doubt it because Lemur866 started going after CaerieD in Day 1, before they had a chance to plan anything out. Also, from memory, the way he went after her made me think he would have been happy to see her hang, which is a very risky move for scum vs. scum on Day 1 when bandwagons could latch onto any argument and take off.
These types of inconsistencies in my suspicions is why I’ve been quiet (in-game) today. I don’t feel good about any of them, but I had to make a choice before the end of the day, and they are the best I have at the moment.
… honestly you haven’t pinged my scumdar that much. And, since I’m pre-FOS-ing Omar no Kami in part because I think he tried to derail the Lightnin’ train by FOS-ing you, that’s not likely to change on my part.
But: please, please PLEASE do not claim until forced to!
Speaking of which, is there a possibility you could repeat the names on the “purple line” that divides the days?
I know: nag, nag, nag, never create…
I did it. Tell me if it’s more confusing that way, because for me it is slightly so. No big deal, though. I locked the first purple bar, so you should be able to see it even when scrolling down. But here, try it this way.
I LIKE it.
But then, I didn’t know you could lock the first bar
Actually, I don’t know that you can in the link I’ve provided, which is the “published” version. Just in the version that can be edited. I didn’t realize that. So this is better for all. Sorry about that!
As the lynch mob advanced implacably upon her, fluiddruid smiled sweetly and said, with her customary moderation, “I brought you people into this world and I can take you right back out of it.”
fluiddruid, a member of the Mafia, is dead.
Night ends at 9:45 p.m. my time on Saturday. Please submit your night instructions before then.
We got one!!!
Starts mixing the margaritas
Ok, who ran off with the salt!
YES!!! WE SCORED!
<Ahem>Nothing personal fluiddruid.
Finally. Anyone else heading to the bar for drinks?
Thank god.
Phew, we’re not quite so lame at this after all.
