Dawn breaks over the horizon. The citizens of Upper Doperville groggily rise from their beds, weary from a night of worry and fear, to a distant shrieking. Scant seconds pass before frantic calls of “Fire! Fire!” sweep through the village.
The citizenry rapidly burst into action, running out of their hoses scantly dressed and with buckets and axes in hand. The pillar of smoke in the sky points down at One and Only Wanderers’ little house away on the hill, consumed in a terrible blaze.
Despite the valiant and noble efforts of the Upper Dopervillians, it is too late. The house rapidly disintegrates, and the heat of the blaze wipes any evidence of the arsonist clean away, along with the body of his or her unfortunate victim. The smell of smoke lingers in the air as the people of Upper Doperville assemble once again in the Town Square.
One and Only Wanderers, a Townsperson, is dead.
Day Two has begun. The sun sets on Tuesday, March 4 at 11am Central time.
Game master note: All players, please check your PMs after Dawn if you do not have email notification enabled.
ok, so there was a kill last night. So we have 2 options here right? Either our vig took their shot at a kill and knocked one of us out or there was no recruitment. Mafia can only kill OR recruit but not both (I just checked).
Either way, this gives us something to work with. So…thoughts? Personally, I want to hear what BlaM was going to say, re: no lynch, if he had been able to say it before the Day was ended early.
I agree. (Though in general I think the Vig is as much a liability to the town as he is an asset)
Hmm… I definitely think we should start lynching today, but I’m curious as to why some would say that we should have started yesterday. At the moment, I feel most suspicious towards our more bloodthirsty members.
I agree. I guess what I really mean to say is that I’m definitely not in favor of a nolynch toDay. I’m ready to take somebody out! But I don’t have a clue who it should be. Yet.
Really? Why? Don’t get me wrong I want to hear explinations too, but that is really more so I can start figuring out how people are thinking about this game.
What would the motivation be for the mob boss going out on a limb against popular opinion and risking that they might be the subject of the lynch IF the town does change their mind?
Again, I am not saying that the mob boss couldn’t have done this, I just can’t think of why they would. Also, I am not sure that this line of inquiry will help us in this game. It might…but I think we need to look for different things then we would have before. I think we need to start looking for the unconcious chance in style that comes from a switch in alignment.
In this game, more then in all the other games, it is very important that we don’t tolerate lurking. Fluff is better then lurking in this game. Please, everyone, try to post something every Day.
It’s been shown that wrong, bad, or different ideas are not indicative of scum ideas. Furthermore, Yesterday there was only one scum, and I doubt they’d put themselves into the smaller, more vicious group, when they could simply hide in the larger, more peaceful group.
Why would a vigilante kill on the first night, though? It seems kind of odd…the chances of something bad happening are much higher than of a mafia member actually getting offed.
I say we get lynching. Sure, we run a risk of offing the wrong person, but not lynching definitely plays into the hands of the mafia. Once a few people are strung up, maybe the picture will be a little more clear.
He has a hammer and sees 24 nails. The Vigilante killed someone for the same reason we’re going to lynch someone today: it’s what we got. I doubt we’ll know for certain if the target is Mob or not, but we’re still gonna lynch em. The Vigilante was clearly not happy with the ‘No Lynch’ vote.
This certainly isn’t what I expected, not for night one. Most of us discussed that yes, no lynch was the best and no, the Vig should stay his or her hand. But now we do have a death on our hands.
If it was the Vig (which right now I doubt) what the hell would be the reasoning? A vig kill on day one would only confuse the issue; the only way the town would know for sure that there was also a vig kill would be if the Boss killed as well. Right now I’m leaning towards the boss saw the discussion and decided to throw a curve, in order to distract us.
So, what does this mean? Is that a clue as to who we should look for?
