Chicago blues giant MAGIC SLIM has passed away 
YouTube “video” of some of his finest work.
I used to see Slim (and the Teardrops) at a club called Florence’s, in Chicago (South Side). Took him on tour to Mexico City one year … we shared a fried chicken dinner!
Great memories. He cannot be replaced.

Wow. After reading of his death here, I talked to two other people who confirmed it. . .
The intertubes are full of conflicting reports. His daughter-in-law says he passed last night. His publicist says that as of 8:00 this morning he’s still alive.
Either way, I’m sad that another one of the last blues guys is joining that gig in the sky…
I heard this on the radio this morning. I only discovered Magic Slim a few years ago but he quickly became one of my favorite bluesmen. Too bad - what a loss.
I had a cassette of him with the Teardrops, one album on each side of the tape, that I used to jam along with on guitar. Someone recorded the tape for me and I don’t remember it having the album names on it.
A bar in town brought in a lot of Chicago blues acts on Wednesday nights back in the 80s-90s.
I went quite often. Not sure if I saw Magic there but it’s quite possible.
