Mahatma Yellow rice

You know the lovely gold package.
Generally cheap.

I think it’s supposed to have saffron in, couldn’t swear that to be true.

I like it rolled into a kale leaf or a tortilla or both.

Can you cook it in a rice cooker?
Anyone done it?

per Google/AI this:

Yes, Mahatma Yellow Rice contains real saffron. It is a seasoned, long-grain rice blend that uses saffron along with spices like turmeric and annatto to achieve its vibrant color and savory aroma. The ingredients list specifically includes saffron and/or “saffron yellow seasoning” to provide a traditional Spanish-style

yes, you can cook it in rice cooker; in fact, you can cook pasta in RC

It worked amazingly. Thanks.

for some reason, rice–and pasta– it seems to cook faster than on stovetop; also, spaghetti doesn’t seem to stick together in RC like it does in stovetop

for quick meal:

Cooking pasta and sauce together in a rice cooker is a convenient one-pot method, typically taking 20-25 minutes for dried pasta to reach al dente. Combine pasta, sauce, water or broth (approx. 1.5–2 cups liquid per 100g-200g pasta), and seasoning in the pot, then set to “Cook,” stirring occasionally.

You have to give pasta a stir or two while cooking to avoid that problem. Also, make sure the pot is large enough for the amount of pasta you’re cooking. Another method is to use a very large steel frying pan. fill with cold water and put the pasta in. Then bring to a boil and cook per instructions. Pasta will never stick to itself with this method.

I’ve done udon noodles in the RC. They wanted to glom up but I kept stirring. With the top off it would be quicker on the gas flame.

But yeah. My daughter cooked any kinda pour in a RC thing available while living in the dorm. She claims her Mac n cheese was the bomb. (Mac noodles, double twist for extra points. A can of Campbells cheese soup)

Are you talking about something like this?
