Dopers are a smart bunch. I wonder if anyone has any ideas on an email problem I have. I have several sites, usually work sites, that only allow me to access my mail via a web interface. I feel like a 10 yr old using my browser to access my mail.
Has anyone heard of any software that can log onto several sites using webmail (I assume it would have to be trained for each site), collect the mail and then redirect it out using IMAP or POP? The ideal software would then be able to take my reply, log back in to the website and post my reply. Of course I need it to be accessible over the internet in the sense that I want to see the mail and reply to the mail using a regular mail client. All the mail clients I use today can easily accomplish this when they access a POP or IMAP account, but webmail is beneath their notice.
The obvious solution, getting the mail service in question to post mail via a civilized interface such as IMAP, hasn’t worked. These are all business sites and they all use exchange. They don’t see the need to turn on the IMAP server. Since I am on a Mac, this makes my mail very hard to access.
So, I want to set up a PC or a Mac server at my house, have my server log on to the various sites, collect my mail, and I will log onto my home server via IMAP.
Any ideas?
thanks
