Mail

Does anyone know if it is illegal to to throw away someone’s opened mail if they was denied access to their home.
I was living in Missouri, while visiting my daughter in Oklahoma my girlfriend broke up with me, when I went to get my things a week later I was not given my opened mail and was not allowed into the house to get my things, she had them packed and in the driveway.
Is it illegal to dispose of my mail?

Thanks

If anything was missing and not in the boxes in the driveway - YOU DID NOT GET YOUR THINGS OR MAIL, then report it to your local police and the US post office Postal Inspector or local postal supervisor.

That should cause her some trouble!

If you did get all your belongings and mail back, then forgetaboutit!

I believe throwing you out w/o a 30 day notice or a restraining order in force was illegal and so is the keeping of ANY thing that’s yours from you, mail or otherwise. I would go to the cops and make a police report so you’ve CYA should you miss out on anything due to not getting mail.
