Hey! No need to call us names.
And you’re still not taking our guns.

Maine’s gone gay.
I wish Michigan would, so it would give everyone something new to complain about other than " It’s the end of the world because the Big Three are in the Ubend of Life AIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
To be fair, the big cities (and I use the term loosely) are very progressive, and yet you can travel 5 miles outside of Portland city limits and you’d think you were in a road show of Diliverence.
Why hasn’t Libertarian Nevada jumped on this money bandwagon?
Oh yeah, downstate. I forgot.
Baldacci could also continue to duck the issue and let it become law without his signature.
Right, The Beans of Egypt, Maine was not entirely fictional. But, be fair, it’s pretty much like rural America anywhere else, just colder than most of it.
Dude, you forgot about complaining about the weather. Always a highlight of my day.
Woohoo!
All right, Maine!
Why is this “being done right”? Why shouldn’t courts decide issues?
Why is it wrong when the courts do it?
I don’t think it’s wrong, but these bills going through the legislatures mean the antis can’t scream about activist judges and such.
Yay Maine!
And you’d be wrong. I mean, you’d be right, of course, but that won’t keep the tighties from screaming “activists” at every turn. It’s what keeps them warm.
Not much action on this over at the Freep, but this a part of one comment I ran across: “The foundational values of our country are being destroyed by these liberal activists and at some point, there is going to be a backlash”
I suppose you’re right. But the more this happens, the sillier the screaming is going to look, right? I hope?
If NH puts the region at 4 for 6, I will be a very proud Yankee indeed.
No, they’ll just scream about “out of touch politician not letting the people vote”. Then the first time SSM passes in a referendum they’ll start babbling how “homosexual activists misleading the public”.
That would be 5 for 6.
I’ve been trying to be optimistic here, guys!
Of course I currently live in what I sincerely believe will be the next-to-last state to approve it – Idaho. I expect Utah will be the last to give in.
Shit, did I miss CT getting on the bandwagon?
CT was the one right after CA (I think)- and when Prop 8 eight hit CA, we fended off a similar attack in the Nov election.
I think we’ll annex RI if they don’t comply…
Note that Connecticut acquired SSM by a court decision, not a legislative vote.
