I’ve been reading lately about how EA stopped the run of the online game Majestic lately, since it might hit a little stressing for some in these troubled times. Understandable, to be sure.
Now, the curiosity has gotten to me. It seems like a hell of a concept. Phone calls, faxes, e-mails, all part of the game.
i tried the free episode, and i guess it was all right. i really liked the concept, as far as the phone calls, emails, instant messages, etc… very immersive. but i dont think EA executed it very well with majestic. it’s waaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy, the standyby times are horrible sometimes (“i wanna play but i can’t! i’m on standby!” or “i’m finally off standby, but now i have things to do!” ).
but still, it was free, so i can’t complain. and i do think there’s a lot of potential there, so i’m hopeing it’ll improve (or some other company will take the idea and run with it)
Another great idea, not-quite-there implementation situation. It has a great deal of potential. I would advise waiting 6 months before signing up… by then, it’ll have died (from money problems) or some of the other problems will have been cleaned up.
I’m a geek… I’m on episode two. I have it calling me cell, and it’s fun to let other people answer it when a 5-something-something area code comes up. >:)
I’m LOVING this game. The waiting is definitely the hardest part, but there’s a TON of information that you can be gathering, as well as a bunch of new people to interact with. I’m really liking this a lot.
