Major Blow Job for Hawaii

Tropical Storm Olivia is set to hit us sometime tonight. It is getting a little windy out there now.

Around 1430 central Oahu. Olivia for this part of the island is a big nothing-burger. No screams of vengeance from sis-in-law over in Hilo (big island) either. Daughter from Waimanalo (windward side Oahu) went to work with no problems reported. A few branches down but nothing widespread.

Now Florence in the Carolinas is a whole 'nother story. Dopers, families, friends are taking measures. It’s going to be devastating with the current forecast.

Homes and cars were washed away on Maui, which took the brunt this time. In fact, this was a historic storm in that it is the first one to hit Maui directly in modern history. They usually hit the Big Island, Oahu or Kauai. Plus it was a rare double landfall – made landfall on Maui and then Lanai.
