Making Way for a Little Weasel

Congrats!!! Weasels are beautiful!

Listen to your body and do what you need to do. Thank everyone for their advice, but do what is best for you and baby.

I had “morning sickness” until the the day she was born. The only thing that settled my stomach was chocolate. Crackers by the bed just did not work for me, but recently I’ve heard about keeping a cooler with yogurt in it at bedside. Definitely find what works for you.

Congratulations! I hope the nausea passes soon - mine only lasted about four weeks, and only with my second. I had luck with water at night (pretty soon, you’ll be up peeing in the middle of the night regardless) and crackers in the morning, but I hope you’ll find whatever works for you soon.

If ginger and other home remedies work for you, great, but if it isn’t helpful, by all means ask your doctor for anti-nausea MEDICATION. It seems like a lot of women wait too long to tell their doctor they are miserably nauseated/vomiting because they assume feeling shitty is just to be expected during pregnancy. However, there are several good options for anti-nausea medication that are widely prescribed for pregnant women and can make things more comfortable.

For example, the drug Zofran is a Category B medication (no studies showing harm to human fetuses) and frequently used in pregnant women.

OK, it’s been a couple of days and I still haven’t gotten this. What does “IMNAHHO” stand for?

In My Not Always Horrifically Humble Opinion?

In My Necessarily Awesome Hyperintelligent Highbrow Opinion?

In My Nascent Admittedly Harebrained Half-baked Opinion?

Please help, or I won’t sleep tonight either . . .

It would help if I spelled the abbreviation right and stopped living up to my Doper name. :smack: I meant “IMNAAHO” = “In My Not-At-All-Humble Opinion”.

Yours were better!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread …

(Did I get all the typos this time? I fixed 5 or 6 of them, then saw another just before I hit submit. Gawd - it’s like I have a curse where I can only see other people’s typos sometimes, and not see my own - ever!)

I was thinking of this thread the other day. Spice Weasel, how are you feeling?

Hey, Spice Weasel, congrats!

Every time I see this thread title, it reminds me of this Dilbert thread:

But I’m sure it’s just an exaggeration.

My wife felt nauseous early when pregnant with our eldest, but overall she loved being pregnant. She truly glowed, and never looked more beautiful. She said childbirth wasn’t that difficult, but the hair she pulled out of my chest would beg to differ.

It has always been so surreal to me that you can, like, grow a whole ‘nother person. Inside of you. It seems so improbable. Anyway, congratulations! I bet the person you’re making is freakin’ awesome.

Mazel weasel!

Congratulations! Hope the tummy troubles soon go away.

Where is Momma Spice Weasel? Are you doing ok?

Unfortunately, Spice Weasel has miscarried. I’ll close this – she may want to talk about it later, but for now, let’s leave her to grieve.

Just to note, Spice Weasel has started a thread regarding this here.
